vincent wondered if he would be this nervous everytime he had to see lola in person.
he was going to her and veondre's shared apartment, as he promised, and it felt like they were meeting for the first time all over again.
he knew they were completely platonic, and he knew that there would be other people, but he was still nervous as hell to be met with her face.
vinnie debated on what he should wear, he remembered lola saying she was 'obsessed' with boys in basketball-shorts on her story, but he thought maybe if he wore the clothing, then it'd be too obvious he liked her.
he settled on a hoodie and some baggy khaki pants, trying his best to make it look like he wasn't trying to impress anyone, although he definitely was. he put his hair in a little man-bun, leaving two strands of hair out, and grabbed his keys before walking out the door.
as he began driving over, the rest of the gang sat in the apartment waiting on him.
"yall think he's gonna be late?" daniel asked, looking up from his phone as veondre sat up minecraft on their PS5. veondre let out a short chuckle and shook her head, "trust me, he'd never be late to a meet up with lola."
lola rolled her eyes, tired of veondre's constant teasing, and got up to go get a can of soda. ever since the whole "nailea is coming over" moment in the groupchat, veondre is absolutely positive that lola has a crush on vinnie. and for the last 30 hours, she had not shut up about it.
lola was sure that she didn't have a crush on him, all of the repressed feelings had definitely been hidden deep enough to the point where she convinced herself they never existed. but, she'd be lying if she said that she didn't feel jealousy come over her when vinnie mentioned another girl.
the whole evening she laid in bed and watched disney+, wondering what the two could be doing together.
as soon as he typed, "nailea is coming over", she wanted to ask so many questions.
"do you like her?"
"does she like you?"
"are you guys a thing?"
"is it a date?"
"it's just gonna be the two of you? all alone together?"
