break up prank on you (requested)

"Good evening, my love!" You grinned as you walked through the door, finding Seulgi sitting on the sofa. "How was your day?"

"Fine." She quietly spoke. "Y/N, we need to talk."

"Oh. Okay." You said as you kicked your shoes off and took off your hoodie before sitting on the sofa next to her. "What is it, babe?"

"This is hard for me to say but I feel like it's what we need right now."

Your heart sank.

You had a feeling that you knew where this was going.

"Y/N, we need to break up."

There it was.

Just as you thought; just as you feared.

But it was even more crushing than you ever thought it'd be if this day ever came around, which you hoped and doubted that it ever would.

"What?"

"I'm sorry but I've been doing a lot of thinking and this is what we need right now."

"I don't understand. Why do we need this? I'm in love with you and you're in love with me... look at everything we've overcome together. I don't get why you'd want to end things when everything is so... perfect."

"I know it's hard, baby but-"

"Hard?" You scoffed. "You're the love of my life! You said I'm the love of your life, too. Hard is an understatement!"

"I know, my love. I'm sorry."

"Stop with the pet names, Seulgi!" You sniffled. "If you're going to break things off, don't sweet talk. It only hurts more."

You stood up and ran your fingers through your hair, feeling as though your world was starting to fall apart.

"We can still be friends, right?"

You turned back to face her, watching as she got up to make her way to you.

"No."

She frowned.

"I love you too much and this hurts a lot. The thought of losing you is hard. I can't be friends knowing I'm going to have to let you go and knowing that I'm going to be in love with you and only you for the rest of my life."

She felt her heart melt and instantly decided to end the prank.

Throwing her arms around your neck, she breathed out a sad sigh and brushed her hand across your back.

"Seulgi, let go."

"No." She sniffled. "Never. Because I was just pranking you and after everything you said,  I'm never letting you go."

You, however, let her go as you pulled away from her quickly.

"A prank? Seulgi, that's mean. You scared me! I thought you were leaving me."

"No, baby girl," she said as she stepped closer to you and began to rub your arms with the tips of her fingers. "I'm never leaving you. I love you so much."

"I love you too." You said before hugging her. "But don't scare me like that again."

"I promise, my love. I won't ever."

You ran your hand across her back, so thankful that she wasn't going anywhere.

You love each other too much for that.
