The next day I woke up and felt like something was going to change. I got ready for school, made breakfast for peter and I, and made sure my homework was finished.
When I got to school, I saw Jasper walking over to me. I gave him a warm smile to which he returned. "Good morning Payton." He said kissing me cheek.
"Good morning Jasper" I decided to give a kiss on the cheek too.
"So I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me after school?" He asked. Well shit, I guess this is what was going to change.
"Yeah, actually I would love to." I said smiling at him.
"Great!" He says.
"Do you wanna just take my jeep since peter drove separately?" I asked.
"Yeah if you want to thats fine with me."
"Great well then we best get going to school so we can get to our date sooner." I giggle out.
The day dragged on. When Peter and I got to lunch, we sat off by ourselves looking at more forms dad had sent us. Bucky was suppose to come tomorrow. "So I will be getting home later today than usual." I tell him.
"Where will you be?" Peter asks.
"I uh have a date after school with Jasper." I say and he gasps.
"Its about fucking time Snow!" He says louder than I wanted.
"Shhhhh not everyone needs to know gosh bro." I say smacking his arm. We finished our lunch and headed to the rest of our classes.
Once school was over I was talking to peter by our jeeps before Jasper came over. He walked up to me and put an arm around me. "You ready to go?" He asks.
"Yeah, peter I'll see you when I get home."
"Have fun, and jasper take care of her." Peter says.
"I will I promise."
Jasper and I get in the jeep and head out. "So whats the plan?"
"I have this spot in the mountains I want to show you, and my mom made a picnic to have." He says.
"That sounds perfect just tell me where to go." I say. I start thinking, why did he bring a picnic when he can't eat? Oh well I will go along with it until he is comfortable telling me.
He gives me the directions to the trail and I pull off to the side so we can walk the rest of the way. We had to make a quick stop by his house to get the picnic basket but it was fine. We reach the meadow and it is gorgeous. We sat everything out and started talking.
Once I started eating I had to ask just to play into it a little bit "are you not going to eat?"
"I am on a special kind of diet. It was doctor recommended for some stuff I'm dealing with." He says.
"Oh that makes sense." I say continuing to play it off. We kept talking for a while about childhoods, goals in life and all that good stuff. I eventually built up the courage to finally ask him about the soulmate marking.
"Jasper, I know this is our first date, but I just need to know something before we continue whatever this is or may be." I say. He looks at me waiting for me to continue on. "The day I touched your wrist, I noticed I touched a tattoo. After that day I have felt a bond between us. So I am just going to get to the point and ask straight out, Jasper are we soulmates?" I ask.
He looks at me again and starts to speak, "yeah I think we are but I haven't seen or touched your tattoo yet so the bond is not fully formed yet." He says. I roll up my sleeve and show him the horseshoe mark and the initials. When he touches it I feel a sensation rush through me causing me to blush at the affect it had on me and the bond form completely. "J.W.H. That would be me. Jasper Whitlock Hale." He says. He moves his sleeve slightly up and shows me more of his tattoo. It was a snowflake with P.S.P on it.
"Payton Snow Parker, that would be me."
I noticed the more I would touch his mark he would relax and calm down, but would also let out a small growl. I guess what they say about the marks are true. "So I am going to guess that the marks allow us to calm each other and feel other feelings as well?" I ask.
"Yes, those are true. We can take this at whatever pace you want to. I am okay with whatever you want to do." He says. I smile up at him and nod my head.
We spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing. He was actually a really sweet down to earth guy. Everyone at school always said he was quiet and in pain. I get that because I know what he is. I decided to do a small spell around him to help with his blood lust without him knowing. It wouldn't control it completely but it would help. It would allow him to relax more at school and show this side of him that only his family or I get to see.
We ended up leaving the meadow and drove around town for a while. We were singing and having a good time. He laughed at me when I stopped to get Starbucks. "Seriously every morning you have this. Do you drink anything else?" He asked
"Hey, leave me and my Starbucks addiction alone! I can't help it they have so many good drinks." I say to him with sass.
He chuckles as he watches me take a drink and hum in pure happiness. I started to drive him back to his place, when I pulled up he looked over at me with a smile. "Thank you for agreeing to come with me today. I haven't laughed this much in a while." He says.
"Of course. I had a lot of fun too thank you for asking me. Jasper before you go, I want to give this, us, a try. Im okay with going at whatever pace we need to. " I tell him.
"Sounds perfect to me. I should probably get inside. Text me when you make it home safely." He says leaning over to kiss my cheek.
"Goodnight Jasper i will see you tomorrow." and I give him a kiss on the cheek as well.
