Stumbled Over Pink Lipstick

It was a fine evening, the sun shone. Unlike the day before, it was calm and everyone was out in the common room again. Momo had made a sweet honey tea with savory cookies that had a pinch of powdered sugar on top. Everybody was enjoying the moment, talking and joking, flirting and shoving. All that you would expect from a group of high school kids. Tsu was talking with Ochako but couldn’t seem to focus. She was worried, why was Mina crying the other day? She shook it off, Mina seemed alright now, why spoil her good mood with a question? She kept talking, giving Mina a glance every now and then, everytime she looked she was laughing or yelling, having the time of her life, joking with her squad and Denki going along with her while Jiro called them stupid. It made her smile, the way her teeth were shown when she laughed or how she would drop dead from laughing too hard, it was all so pure, she didn’t have to be calm around them, that loud group…she really had fun with them didn’t she?

Glance, after Glance, after Glance, Ochako noticed. She glanced too. She saw Tsu’s eyes sparkling while Mina shoved Bakugou, laughing over the noisy crackles coming from the angry boy. She had her tea in hand spilling occasionally while cursing for a moment then getting back to her jokes and games. She saw Mina chug her tea with Denki right after Iida had told them to quit fooling around, they were making a mess on the floor! Ochako watched silently for a bit more, she saw Denki slamming the cup onto the counter top of the kitchen Mina doing the same a second later. Her lipstick was smeared, some had transferred onto the cup, some smudged on the corners of her mouth. Her very pink lipstick…she looked absolutely gorgeous. A little bit more and they saw Jiro walking towards her, touching her face with a wipe, getting the smudged lipstick and helping Mina re-apply. So soft..so,so,soft they looked, so pretty.

Ochako turned away, she looked back at Asui, had the same expression she had when she first looked at her…well, almost the same her eyes looked sadder….why was she sad all of a sudden?

“Hey Tsu? You okay there? You’re kinda spacing out right now.” Ochako said, waving her hand in front of Tsu’s face to snap her out of her trance.

“Eh? Oh! Yes I'm completely fine, why do you ask Ochako? Kero.”

“Well, you started to space out looking at Mina and the others, when Jiro went to wipe her smudged lipstick I glanced back at you and you seemed sadder.”

“Really? Wow, don’t worry about it though I'm not upset in the slightest. Honestly the only thing sad about right now is the fact that I can't consume any more of these cookies. ” Tsu responds to not worry the pink-cheeked girl, to be honest she was sad, just a little. She saw how happy she was, how she was able to yell and be herself with her group, sometimes with her but that's different, she didn’t mind, she was happy that Mina was laughing and having the time of her life! Her eyes sparkled when she saw her drop dead from laughing. The only thing she didn’t like was the fact that Jiro could help her fix her makeup up close without being weird and Tsu couldn’t, I mean she can but she would be all awkward, she didn’t know why! 

Froppy and Uravity kept talking for another fifteen minutes, eventually Ochako went to hang out with Izuku. She invited Tsu to come along but she turned her down, now Tsu was standing alone, looking around at the room. She was getting pretty bored and decided to go up to her room, taking one last glance at Mina and her friends.

She got up to her room and flopped on the bed still feeling that little bit of sadness. Tears brimmed her eyes threatening to fall and they did. They ran down her cheek one by one, they were light tears and Tsuyu wasn’t making a sound. They were falling against her will. There was nothing she could do to stop it so they kept creeping out of her eyes, one, by one, by one. Tsu kept wiping them away lightly while she controlled her breathing. She got up and walked all the way to the end of the room counting her footsteps, back and forth, back and forth. She calmed down but the sadness was still prominent. It's like she couldn't do anything about it, a longing that can’t be fulfilled in her mind. She wanted to get close to Mina, hold her face without being awkward! So why couldn't she? It wasn’t a bad bad type of sad she wasn’t depressed, those things aren't even the same things. But boy did it make her tired, she was sleepy but couldn’t sleep, not until this longing was fulfilled. She laid on her bed, stroking the bed sheets with one finger tracing the floral designs. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes, she didn’t open them for a while…It was a little over eight o’clock when she did and the stars were out. When she got up she was still tired but hungry. She was about to go down to the kitchen when there was a knock at the door. They knocked three times once every hour, Tsu woke up of course but decided to ignore it as she wanted to sleep. This time though she answered by opening the door. She saw Mina who was holding a bag of fast food and drinks!
