The task force headquarters were quiet. Everyone was working over something. Mira was typing the report she needed to send to the news office. She needed to have a follow-up with the eyewitness. But she was still very much followed everywhere by Adrian. He rarely lets go of her and it is begun to annoy her to a point that she cannot take it anymore.
She almost hit the table in frustration. "Please be careful that is my baby, I just installed a new surveillance system," Brian told her and ran towards her. "Then you got to help me." She demanded. "Like what?" Brian asked. "Get me the eyewitnesses for the case. I like to know what they have seen so I can see it. I need that evidence for the article."
Someone placed a file in front of her. "Here is the eyewitness account. Take what you need there is nothing more you need to know apart from that." She looked at the owner of the voice and it is no other than Adrian Alexander Knight. "I am not a fragile porcelain doll that I will break even with a little amount of stress. I want to go and take those interviews myself. And you cannot stop me." She stood up angrily taking her bag and he held it too.
"I think you wish to stay in this task force, Miss Mira Roy? Or shall I call you Mrs. Mira Adrian Knight? Whatever identity you like to have both of them will tell you I am your superior." She pulled the bag away but it got torn in half. "You tore my purse?" "Don't worry I am going to buy you a limited edition one. As long as you are my wife you got to enjoy the things my wife should have and enjoy in her life. Even if it is only for a month Mrs. Knight."
She took her bag out and slapped Alexander hard. "You think you can buy me just because you are a billionaire? Just because you can buy anything or anyone you will do anything you like to? Somethings in this world is money cannot buy." She was angry and frustrated. "I don't want anything from you, And those four weeks are almost over. Then you cannot call me your wife, anymore." She walked out of the task force headquarters.
Brian walked after her. Adrian saw even Phoebe and Fred also leave the headquarters. But he didn't move an inch from his place. He was still looking at the torn handle of the colorful tote bag she carries everywhere. He picked it up. Sheena came up and Adrian looked at her. "She was very attached to the bag, her father brought it for her. She is right Sir, it is irreplaceable. But it looks like she has to let go of it eventually because she has lost it." He took the handle and took it with him.
He looked at it and called her number. It was switched off. He had no idea where she could be and this time it felt like he had offended her a lot. In many ways, she is like her. That spirit is the same, the anger always stuck on her nose. And he is getting habituated with her presence. He wasn't expecting her to be this fiery. But she is entirely something else. Something no one can get habituated about easily she is a very particular taste. But once you tasted it you cannot want but want more from it and he wanted more from her.
He called Brian next but his phone too went on the voice mail. This cannot be happening. He called Sheena. "Sheena trace Brian and Mira's number immediately and tell me where is the last location." "What's the matter, sir? Is something wrong?" She asked. "Just tell me the last location." And with that, he cut the call.
"Where to sir?" his driver asked him. "I don't know, I have no idea. No, idea where to find her." "maybe I do," His driver told him. "She used to visit this café whenever she is sad maybe she is there? Maybe she is..." "take me there I want to know if she is alright." Adrian told the driver as he tried to call Phoebe and Fred because they too went after them. But since her phone was switched off he was more than just worried. There had been two attacks already done on her and this can be bad. That is what revolves in his mind.
The driver stopped the car in front of the café. And Adrian started to run towards the cafe. He walked inside and started to ask questions about her. This time he did remember to bring her picture with him. "Yes, she was here with someone." The server told him. "Was it this man?" He showed him Brian's pictures.
