I'm awoken by a sudden jolt on my body, and I see Luke right next to me still sleeping. What time is it? I look at my phone screen and it's 3 A.M. Woah, what a time to wake up in all places... The witching hour or, more accurately here in the Devildom, devil's hour. I carefully make my way out of bed to get a glass of water. I use my phone's light screen to make my way through. I almost got to the kitchen when I almost gasped from fear seeing a dancing shadow near the table's kitchen counter. Frozen for a few seconds at the entrance, I start to see that shadow as a familiar figure. Now more curious than scared, I open the door only to find Simeon reading in candle light the book I gave him.

"Simeon..! I didn't expect to see you here so late at night," I approach him, calmer.

"I could say the same thing to you? Did something wake you?"

"I guess you could say that. Just a weird feeling that woke me up. I decided to get some water. You kinda scared me a bit, haha."

"At least it wasn't a nightmare. I'm not one either. Sorry I scared you though," Simeon's warm smile laughs slightly.

"Is the book okay," I sit down next to him

"Yes! It's very fun. Thank you," he closes the book.

"I'm glad. Getting things for you, Solomon, Luke, and the brothers is a bit easy, except for Lucifer. Diavolo is also difficult, considering, you know," I awkwardly laugh at his enormous wealth.

"I know what you mean. The brothers all have their own quirks that satisfy them easily, but pride can be difficult to obtain in a physical form."

"Exactly," I scream-whisper.

"You know. I have noticed some things he does really enjoy though - that he's proud of."

"Yeah? Like what," I lean in to listen.

"One time I messaged him asking him about a record he got. He's usually straight and to the point, so I was surprised when he went into detail about it."

"Oh, that's right! How could I have forgotten? *Sigh* But it's so hard to find good vinyls for him though. His collection is so pristine. I mean even Mammon would steal from Lucifer to get that Grimm they're crazy rare. (I guess to be fair he's stolen from the Demon Lord, but he's so laid back - does it really count?) Anyway, a lot of them are either incredibly rare or possibly dangerous to get," my defeated tone of a mere human lets out. "Though it's part of the reason why I love hearing him talk about them. It's something he really likes, and I love to listen to classical music too."

"I don't know how you can stand listening to him for that long. When he messaged me, I tried to get out of it by telling him I had something to do, but then he said we'd continue the conversation later... Can you imagine," he says worriedly, recalling the uncomfortable memory.

"Yeah, I can. I gotta say I'm a bit jealous," I jokingly squint at him.

"Maybe I should just ask you to ask for me, so I don't have to and you get to. I should let you get your water though. It IS late; I should be heading to bed too."

"Mm, alright," I nod. "Goodnight."

Simeon leaves the kitchen, leaving me to ponder if I really want to get water or not. It's not as if I was thirsty. I slump in the chair looking at the small fire flickering. These special Devildom candles turn the fire the color of the wax. How can Simeon read in this dark light? Why does the candle have to be red too? It just reminds me of Lucifer's eyes. I wonder if he's still awake.

Hey, by any chance, are you still up?

It's late. Go to sleep. We'll talk later.

Damn, that's it? He seems mad. What'd I do now? It could just be that he's really stressed with work if he's up this late. That's probably it. I should get these last few hours of sleep while I still can. I'm still wondering what caused that sudden jolt. Maybe it's because I'm in a different place than usual, though it didn't really happen when I first started my stay at the mansion. Strange.
