Aoi's POV

As Nene-chan and I walk to the lake not far from our cottage, the sky above is getting darker and darker each minute. We only have the lantern, which I'm holding, and a container filled with ripe (and washed) strawberries, which Nene-chan is holding.

Though, our walk to the lake is silent. But  not 'awkward' kind of silent,it is rather a peaceful one. I looled behind back to our cottage, only to notice that the others who were outside a second ago are now gone.

They're probably helping Aunt Sumire preparing our beds.

"Aoi-chan, there's something I want to ask you."

I turned my head to the blonde and smiled as sweet as I can. "Hm? What is it?" I asked.

She just flashed me a small smile and answered, " I'll ask you once we're finish setting up our spot. Oh, let's settle down by the big oak tree over there!" She then ran to the big tree that's probably seven meters away from the water.

We sat down on the grass. I placed the lantern between us. I looked at her face and... I was speechless. I was stunned.

Her cute, sweet face against the light of the lantern... It was so pleasing and perfect to see... A beautiful scenery, if i say.

"Aoi-chan? Are you okay?" I blinked twice and screamed internally when I realized I was staring at her for a abit too long that it made her feel awkward. God, Aoi!

"Ah- Yeah! I am, Haha! I just thought that it was a bummer to not bring our phones with us since the stars are looking very pretty tonight." I excused.

She looked up in the sky and frowned. "You're right. The stars are slowly appearing yet they're already noticeable because of how bright they shine. what a bummer indeed."

I giggled and poke her cheeks. "But you know what's more pretty?" She then averted her eyes from the sky. "What is it?"

"Your pretty face! Ehe!" I said, poking my own cheeks as I wink and stuck the tip of my tongue out. I saw her ears get red and she laughed quite loudly.

"Kyaa! Stop that! You're making me blush!" She shouted, swinging her arms against me. I just giggled at her reaction.
"Ah really? Should I do more?" I asked jokingly.

"What? No! No! Enough! It's making me feel funny!!" She shouted again, but fhis time she is redder than before. I decided to stop and just laugh at her.

'That was so cute of her! Gosh, what more if we get together?'

I took a strawberry from the container and eat one as I look at the water. "Say, have you heard about that one tale about a woman dragging people to the lake with her?" I started.

"Wha- No! Don't tell me about that while we're only a few meters away from the water! Especially at night time!" She shouted once again, feeling some sort of fear from her voice. "It's gonna come out knce we do!"

"I was just starting." I replied. "I'm gonna tell you about it once we're back at town."

After what i said, there's a moment of silence between us. The sounds of crickets not far from us, and fireflies flying around. I begin on thinking of what kind of conversation I'm going to talk to her about right now...

"Oh, Nene-chan! What was the thing you want to ask me earlier?" I break the silence. We looked at each other. I then saw her blush a little.

"I was going to ask you on how to confess to a person... You know, since you have a alot of admirers and stuff, I was wondering if you could give me some advice about it..."

I felt my world began to distort, but I still managed to maintain myself. "O-oh! Sure! Who is this person you're confessing to?" I asked. That question alone made my heart fragile, knowing that the possible answer she'll give will either break it or strengthen it.

Nene-chan looked away from me before starting off her sentence. "Uh... All I can say about them are... They're very social, I talk to to daily... and... they like the moon and stars..." She ended the sentence by covering her face wuth both the plams of her hands.

Very social... Talked to daily... Moons and stars... Is this who I think it is...

"Oh!" I said. "W-what a lucky guy!" She replied with a hum. My heart broke when I saw her blush more and how visible her wide smile was...

Is she referring to Amane-kun?

He's social that he's friends with everyone in class and even seniors,  they talked to each other daily, even fighting, and he...

"I'm too busy studying moons! stars! whatever they are."

I took my fifth strawberry and just eat it whole...

She couldn't possibly refer to him, right?
I'm social! I'm the one she talks to daily! I like moons! and stars!

"Yeah. He really is."

Oh...

So it is him...

what a bummer...
