A Promise

(Kazuma's pov)

I can faintly hear a dozen distant sounds as light was pricking my eyelids.

Chatter of birds and soft breathing were the ones I focused on most as I slowly opened my eyes.

I put my hand above my face to stop myself from going blind due to the sunlight as I saw another shadow watching over me.

My eyes took a few seconds to get used to the light and focus on the shadow before me, and I met a pair of red orbs looking down on me.

It was Megumin, she had my head in her lap as she gently caressed my hair.

The softness that I feel under my head makes sense now.

The thought that I was in heaven ran through my mind as I lay there.

Though, seeing me wake up, Megumin stopped her actions.

Why did you stop? Can't you let me enjoy this a little bit more?

My thoughts were cut short as I felt her suddenly taking an entire fist of my hair and she started yanking me a little.

"Kazuma..."

Her voice sounded off, it was more intimidating...

"I was so very worried for you, so I asked Yunyun to bring me here as soon as possible."

She said with a smile that... didn't feel right.

"But when I came here I saw a black cloth sticking from your pocket."

I looked down at the spot she was talking about as she pulled out a black colored panty that I genuinely didn't know of.

"Mind telling me why you had this with you?"

Forget about heaven, this is hell.

"I am telling you, I really don't know how that got in my pocket, someone must have placed it there" I said as we walked to the place where our party was lazing around

"yeah, keep trying Kazuma" megumin who was walking in front of me said sarcastically without turning around

Hearing this I slouched my shoulders a little

I am sure this was someone's prank

I just don't whose

"it was me Kazuma" a cat can be heard saying in her cat language while being carried in komekko's arms

"I told you didn't I , I will take my revenge when you didn't help me with this little demon girl. now you shall pay-ughh"

A loud strangled cry was heard from the cat as komekko tightened her grip on her

"ah so this is how it all ends, I imagined my demise to be a lot greater than this" the cat cried out turning a little blue

I looked at the cat being strangled by komekko

It was probably aqua

'I will deal with her later first I gotta catch up with megumin' I thought seeing the distance between us growing

I started walking faster to catch up with her , leaving the cat to her own fate

"huh maybe this is karma" the cat let out weakly before passing out
