"You're pretty though!" Xinyan cheered you up as you just checked out for yourself in the mirror, wearing your favorite clothing for the lantern rite. "Really?" you reassured, receiving a nod from Xinyan. You thought to yourself that if you maybe dressed up more better, Xiao would like you.
You even thought to yourself, why? Why does he always push you away?
Well, it's about time you know. He's been always busy with Lumine and his duties, protecting Liyue and more. You've known him for a decent amount of time. Both adepti, yes. But then, there was one thing that bugged you ever since. "Why does he hate me?" you always asked yourself.
It's not your fault he makes it seem like he hates you, but then again. Your feelings would never change for him, you always loved him and how he acted. Despite how mean he could be to you.
You saw him with Lumine, smiling as they watch kids jump in excitement.
Of course you were jealous, it was obvious and you can't deny. Lumine was naturally pretty, a bonus even. She's very graceful in every move and everything she says comes out so angelically. It was as if she was heaven sent.
"Jealous much?" a familiar voice spoke behind you. You then seek who was it and saw Ajax.
"Oh not again, Childe. And yes, of course." he then hugged you with one arm and attempted to calm you down by rubbing your shoulder. "Now now, it's fine. There's so much people in the world that can love you better than he could. Take me as an example."
As those words come out of your mouth you thought to yourself. What did he mean? You then figured out, after thinking of it for a short period of time. "W-what?" you then stuttered, due to being flustered in an uncomfortable way but then it still sent butterflies to your stomach. "Well, I figured you love him better so I didn't want to tell you earlier."
"I'm sorry.." you said, with your spirits down once more as you felt like it was your fault. You spotted Xiao as he was slowly approaching you, leaving Lumine with Keqing and Ningguang. "Welp, I'll get going. Good luck there (y/n)." Childe stated as he walked in the building. You nod, then faced Xiao who was now facing you.
"Hi-" you then greeted, awkwardly as for he never approaches you first as usual. "I want you to stay out of my sight today, got it?" Xiao hissed rudely. Sure, it was not very much of a gentleman for him to do, but he did have reasons. You do know you annoyed him every time you spoke a word to him. "Alright." you then stated, and walked past him. Looking down, hiding the forming tears in your eyes.
