"The other woman, would always cry herself to sleep."

- In which Albedo crawls back to you after Sucrose's death, but you are already with someone... better.

A day after you and Albedo had broken up.

"(Y/n), I think it's better if you rest yourself for now. I can handle the commissions!" Kaeya stated with a worried smile, making you take a glance at him and continue with drinking.

Your eyes were swollen from all the crying you did on a daily basis, and even before sleeping. You were pale, and anyone who'd try and take a look at you would be worried about why. You're out there, abusing your organs to ease your pain; or not?

"...just another one, please." You sternly ordered, not looking at the face of the bartender. You were certain it was not Charles anymore, as the waist you were now staring at was... quite built.

"That's enough for you today," A deep voice said in front of you. It shocked you a bit, and immediately intimidated you for seconds. "(Y/n)." He finished his sentence and took the glass you were currently holding gently, making you see who was it.

Oh, Diluc.

"But why..." You mumbled, half lidded eyes begging to be closed in exhaustion. Diluc did not reply, instead, he placed a plate with cake, probably in attempts of getting you sober. You pondered on why he was being so nice to you, it was shocking.

"Eat this, it could help." He forced out a statement. Kaeya patted your head and said something you couldn't hear very well, then left the tavern quite rapidly.

You took a small slice of the cake in your mouth, not bothering to look at the man who offered it to you. The taste of the cake made you smile, you wonder why. Sooner as you finish it down, you start to feel more yourself, sober.

"Is it good?" Diluc inquired with a worried expression. You nod in response, now looking at his face to see what reaction he gives off. He smiled at you, face looking at ease with all his problems finally away.

"...you should get going." He suggested, patting your head lightly with his glove-covered hand. "But I don't... I don't want to." You lightly spoke, making him squat to reach your face's level.

Diluc was worried.

"Do you want me to take you there? You seem.. weak." He paused, finding the right words to say to you. You never got to interact with him like this, nor he cared about you the past years you've been visiting the tavern. "I don't want to be a bother," You started, not bothering to look him in the eye, confused. You stared at his lips for a great amount of time and he sure took note of what you were doing.

"Are you sober?"

The question stood out well, you thought of it thoroughly and still managed to reply incorrectly despite being sober.

"N-no? I think," You replied, furrowing your brows as he just chuckled. "You're sober." He remarked, a small and sly smile displayed on his face as he continued with his work on trying to get you to stop being upset.

It didn't help. This only reminded you of how Albedo would smoothly solace you whenever you would too much, and how he smiled at you whenever you're unsure of what answer would have to come out of you.

You swore you felt your heart ached for a good minute of staring at Diluc's smile, it was just unusual, just like how unusual Albedo would give a surprising expression.

"Why are you tearing up? Did I say something.." Diluc's smile turned into a downward upsetting expression, he seemed genuine unlike what little worry Albedo gave off for you.

"Nothing, it doesn't matter anymore." You wiped the forming tears up, smiling back at the man, finally able to look him in the eyes as he were doing.

You felt a sudden warmth within your chest.

A year after this

You and Diluc had established a relationship after months you've fell for each other, it was sweet and genuine unlike whatever the fuck you had with Albedo, experimental.

Whatever you do, Diluc supports you. He's very honest with quite literally everything. Truth be told, he's already been into you ever since the day you were introduced to his tavern.

You're a lovely person.

KNOCK KNOCK!

You heard from your door was knocks which you assumed to be Diluc, but it sounded different from how he usually knocks. You analyzed it to the point you finally mastered to know if it is him, or not.

You stood up to open the door with the usual smile you gave to everyone.

"He-..?" You got cut off by the face shown right in front of you. You furrowed your brows and gave a confused expression.

"Albedo? Hey," You greeted, brows still furrowed. A small smile peeking through your mouth. "Good afternoon, (y/n)."

"Uh.. well, all I came here for was to say sorry, and ask if we could try again."

Shamelessly, the alchemist spoke. You swear you wanted to burst out laughing, how could he do this once again? It's delusional of him to think you'd agree anyway if he does.

"You can't try again, sadly." A deeper voice said from behind him, your eyes followed the direction of the voice, and there you saw the love of your life.

"Diluc!" You smiled as he returned the gesture. Albedo was stunned right in front of you, probably sad about what is exactly happening to him.

You learnt that Sucrose just passed away a few weeks ago, and this was the reason why Albedo came coming after you again.

Too bad, he's not important anymore.
