THE GENTLE DROPLETS of rain have always given you comfort, always. Every time it rains, you couldn't help but let out your emotions. Especially so, when the moon is brightly shining above you whilst you're alone.
Today, you felt like doing nothing, but bugging Albedo, who has been ignoring you for about twelvedays. Sure, you understood he was busy in work, but then, you couldn't help but notice he couldn't even mutter up a word to you.
The both of you have been together for six months, and he has never done this within that time. You wondered, 'does he not need me anymore?' — you admired his passion when it comes to alchemy, and how his eyes would lighten up by the mention of something related to it. More so, by the mention of Sucrose.
Her abilities exceeded yours, and this impressed Albedo. You knew there was an immense possibility that he could like her more than he did to you, but then, you were too busy thinking of the both of you to think of that large issue.
Now walking yourself home in the middle of the rain, clothes drenched by how long you've been wet this midnight — you feebly sobbed.
"Is these possibilities happening just this timespan?" You questioned yourself, making your ribs clench around your heart, breathing now became hard for you. Why is it that Albedo was so off these days?
You didn't want to think of it.
You sat on the wooden seat, open to everyone in the front of the cathedral, fully wet by the harsh rain flowing — having a time of comfort by yourself, you spoke to the moon. Your only true friend.
"I'm an adult now, I mustn't let this get into me, right?" You sternly stated, smiling despite the pain that resides by your chest. Just the view of the moon makes you so vulnerable, it's sickening. "I must take what I'm given... and appreciate it." You whispered underneath your breathe, quietly crying.
Your eyes were red and swollen, it's almost as if they were very irritated.
As soon as the rain stops, you decided to come home to Albedo and tell him about your day, for the first time of all the twelve days. You couldn't stop yourself anymore, especially now that it is supposed to be a special day for the both of you.
Sorrowed, you feebly walked towards your home — only to be greeted with an unpleasant scenery. Well, to you, that is.
"Albedo, Sucrose...?" You managed to breathe out, displeased by the sight of the two. "...what's going on?"
You have caught them making out it seems — Sucrose was sitting on the table, her legs hugging Albedo's waist, as he deeply kisses her. If you were to arrive an hour later, you could've seen more.
"(Y/n).. S-sorry, I-" Sucrose stammered, looking down at her shoes in embarrassment. Albedo being in the rescue of her, he stood up straight and faced you.
"It's too bad, you came earlier. I was just doing this for an experiment." He stated, fixing his shirt and putting on his coat, doing the same to Sucrose. You couldn't believe your eyes — what you just witnessed hurt you more than your thoughts did.
You loved Albedo truly, and once the two of you had established your relationship, you always exerted efforts for him not to lose interest. But it seems he did completely. It seems, he experimented on your feelings.
You sighed, "You don't have to explain, just... leave. You can continue that in Dragonspine or somewhere else... just not in my house." You looked down, your other arm gesturing for them to leave. Sucrose finally managed to speak up for herself.
"I-I couldn't stop Mr. Albedo, I'm s-so sorry, (y/n)..." She kept muttering, making your blood boil every second they stayed longer — jealousy had lingered thoroughly to your veins, making you feel limp and weak in front of the two alchemists, and this made you feel the need to just stay silent.
Albedo made his way to you, making you aware of whatever shit he'd do. "This experiment is completed," He whispered, enough for you and Sucrose to hear, pointing at your chest (specifically, heart) to reassure you what he meant.
Your clothes were still drenched, dripping wet from the rain you'd walked to, and it felt like you were about to faint. However, you forced yourself to stay awake, to watch them leave.
"If I were her," You started off, finally looking up, glare like ice towards Sucrose. "would you love me better?" You questioned, leaving Albedo's eyes widened, so as Sucrose'.
Your eyes were now lifeless by the view of the two, both dear to you. You wanted to sink yourself in a warm, cozy bed with Albedo, once more, like before.
But the both of you knew the last time you did that, is the last time you'll ever do that.
"Why are you asking me questions I don't have an answer to.. (y/n)?" Albedo emotionlessly inquired, making your heart sore just by his tone, or was it his voice that makes you hurt? "Just leave." You sternly professed, making him nod, Sucrose on the other hand just took all of their things and went beside Albedo with an apologetic look.
Your eyes screamed, "If I were her, I'd be loved."
