Minho nods his head and we all walk out of the house to meet Brenda, Thomas and I still in our pajamas. I grab Thomas' hand and intertwine our fingers.
"You ready?" I whisper.
"As ready as I'll ever be." He says with a weak smile.
"Thomas, Teresa!"
It's her. She's really here. I knew it wasn't just a dream.
Thomas and I just stand there in shock as she moves closer to us.
"Well, don't I get a welcoming hug?" Brenda asks with a smirk on her face.
I shake my head. "Yeah, uh, of course."
She wraps her arms around me and then does the same to Thomas.
"Uh, Brenda?" Thomas asks.
"Hmm?"
"You're squeezing a little...too tight." He says.
"Whoops, sorry." She says and lets go. He immediately exhales out a huge breath of air.
"So..." I say. "What's new?"
"Nothing really." Brenda says. "I mean, I'm the voice in your head, but, other than that, nothing. W.I.C.K.E.D.'s still bad and people are still catching the Flare. The only good news is that Cranks are starting to die out. No one knows how or why, but it's still a good thing."
"Still one question: how did you get here?" Thomas asks.
"Have you guys even been to the outside world? You're not trapped in another box, you know." She says with a laugh.
"Wait, we're not?" Minho speaks for the first time.
"Nope. I believe that we're in a place called California. I came from Chicago. W.I.C.K.E.D. had another experiment there. Something that had to do with...factions?"
I gasp. "Maybe we can live normal lives! If we find the other immunes, then we can bring this world back to civilization!"
"Woah, not so fast, tiger." Brenda says. "You'll need a whole lot of supplies. Food, water, everything."
"But there's gotta be a way. Somehow, we can do this!"
"Teresa's right. We can't stay here forever." Thomas says.
"I know, Tom, but-"
"How many times have I told you not to call me Tom?" He says.
"I-I'm sorry."
"It's fine." I say before Thomas and her get into a big argument. "Why doesn't Minho introduce you to some of the other people? Thomas and I will go find Rose and Newt."
"Sounds like a plan." Minho says and him and Brenda are off.
This book will be over soon. It already had the plot twist and a (very) little bit of action. Hopefully you've enjoyed it and any requests for what to do next? Also, did you catch the Divergent part I put in there? Love you guys!
