Natasha's POV
"Tony, you have to calm down" I said staring at the figure who was pacing across the smooth floor
We had been woken up in a frenzy, at close to three am, by an extremely panicked billionaire.
"This is all my fault" he muttered, as he moved back and forth, "I shouldn't have been so hard on her"
"Tony!" I exclaimed, as I grabbed his shoulders to stop him from moving, "This was NOT your fault"
"You're absolutely right" he said sarcastically, looking me straight in the eye, "it was her's"
"Not what I meant"
He glanced nervously at the screen which showed the position of Y/n's tracker
The red dot hadn't moved from her room, so she had obviously cut it out
That explained the large amount of blood
My bad...
"How the hell are we going to find her" Thor asked anxiously, "She could literally be anywhere on earth"
"Or in space" Clint added, unhelpfully
"Yeah, cause a ten year old would definitely have a spaceship on hand" Tony cut in
"What're we going to do?" Clint groaned, "We should never have let her out of our sight"
"Right now..." Bruce said sadly, "...all we can do is wait"
Y/n's POV
TW - Suicide (With an embarrassing amount of pancakes)
The cold night air stung my cheeks as I let my feet dangle over the extremely high edge of the top of the Empire State Building
Not the most ideal place to be, I know...
But it was a good place for being alone, and plus it had one heck of a view
It was also a great place to make choices
I stared down from the highest point, and the ground looked so far away, I could almost imagine I was on the 600th floor that was restricted to the extreme VIPs
The ground looked far enough that a person who fell from this height wouldn't just die, they would literally be flattened
Like a pancake
A really delicious whipped cream with chocolate sauce pancake
And now I was hungry
One of the things I was gonna miss the most from the compound was the really great food
Especially the pancakes
And the avengers, I guess
But anyways, back to the main topic of how high up the building was
And how easy it would be to just jump, and leave all my problems behind
Every. Single. Problem.
Gone.
Just like that.
Like I said, the top of the Empire State Building was a great place to make choices
My feet edged forward slightly, as I stared over the side that would give me the decision of staying, or just moving on
I took a deep breath and slowly let my legs slide the rest of the way
I was ready for this
Ready to move on
Ready to stop bringing pain into other people's lives
I released my death grip of the sides of the building and let myself fall
Tony's POV
"Tony, we've got something" I finally heard a voice say
We had been scouring security camera feeds for what seemed like forever, to find even the slightest sign of the kid
I went over to the TV, which was showing footage from what looked like... the top of the Empire State Building
"What the hell is she doing up there" Cap asked before I could say it
"Peter used to say," I replied, my voice breaking slightly, "It was a good place to be alone with your thoughts"
"Which is exactly what she wants" Natasha said slowly
"So should we get her back here, or wait until she's ready?" Clint asked, looking confused
We stared at the kid, as she let her legs dangle over the side of the abnormally tall building
"Maybe we should wait, so that we don't scare her off... again," Thor said
No one replied, as we continued to stare at the figure who didn't seem like she was going to be moving anytime soon
Suddenly, a voice took me out of my own thoughts
"What's she doing?" I heard Nat ask in a nervous tone
I looked back up to the screen and saw that the kid was letting herself slowly slide down the side of the top of the building
"Do you think she fell asleep?" Clint asked, trying to calm everyone down
"Asleep's one word for it" Bruce muttered ominously
"We have to stop her" Thor said hurriedly. He was the only one of us who seemed to be thinking straight
We were about to go after her, when we saw a dark shape looming over the side of the building
"Can she see that?" Cap asked
"No, or she'd probably be doing something about it" Nat replied
Suddenly, before we realised what was happening, the kid let go of the building and began to plummet downwards at a dangerously high rate
"Shit" Clint muttered under his breath
All we could do was watch
But before the kid reached the ground, the dark figure sliced through the air and grabbed her
The kid cried out in shock, but she was caught by surprise and couldn't fight back
As we stared in shock, the figure moved closer to where the camera was and looked straight at it, like it knew we were watching
"I've got your kid Stark," the voice of the one and only vulture said through the camera, "and you're never getting her back"
