Liz's POV

It had been close to an hour, and my dad hadn't returned yet

I had started feeling a little guilty for betraying him and letting Y/n go free, but I couldn't leave that poor eight year old to die

I left the floor with the cells, so that my dad wouldn't get suspicious and I had gone back down to the lower floor, where he told me to wait

I was leaning against a wall, scrolling through my phone when I suddenly heard footsteps

As I looked around the corner to see where the noise was coming from, I spotted my dad with a few important looking men who were all in expensive suits

"Liz, there you are," my dad said, putting an arm around me, "Gentlemen, this is my daughter Liz, who is eventually going to take over the company"

I was greeted by steely glares and gruff nods of the head

"Uhh... hi?" I said, my voice barely over a whisper

"Now, as I was saying," he continued, "I've got Stark's kid in a cell a few floors above. Follow me."

"You've got who?!?" I said, pretending to be oblivious

I had to keep them away from there at all costs. If my dad went up there and saw an empty cell, he would go ballistic

"Ah, right I forgot to tell you" he said to me, "To complete the partnership with these good men, we are giving over Tony Stark's daughter to them. She's been... staying with us for a few days" he said matter of factly, as if it was completely normal to have kidnaped a billionaire's kid

"Are you sure she's actually his daughter though?" I asked, trying to keep him talking

"Of course" he said firmly, "Now, let's not waste any more time"

I groaned under my breath as we all followed him up a few flights of stairs, and to the final floor of the building

As we reached dangerously close to the cell, I began to panic

I stepped forward and peeped into Y/n's cell, which was obviously empty, but I pretended it wasn't and I blocked the men's view

"Uh,  you don not want to go in there" I said hurriedly, stepping in front of them to stop them from going to the cell

"And why, may I ask?" one of the men asked in a cold voice

"She looks really sick and uh... there's puke everywhere..." I lied, thinking on my feet

"That doesn't matter, Liz" my dad said, "Let us pass"

"I can't!" I exclaimed

"Get out of our way, girl" the guy said, shoving me out of their path

He approached the cell and looked in, raising his eyebrows

But when he went further in, he gave a cry of outrage, and angrily turned on my dad

"Liar" he growled

"Excuse me?" My dad asked, extremely confused

"It's empty"

Y/n's POV

So, hacking the mainframe was a lot harder than I thought

It was definitely possible to blow up all the weapons at once, which I had proved that with an abundance of trial and error

But now I just had to find a way to rewire the mainframe to accept the new code that allowed me to blow up the weapons

And that required me to get through an extremely dangerous firewall which could send out a bunch off warnings, alarms, alerts and all of that bs to Toomes if I hacked it wrong
