Adrien's mouth went dry and his fingers felt like they couldn't move. She saw him meet Kagami. He didn't do anything wrong but... why did his heart ache at her text. Why did he regret going to see her? Why did he feel guilty? He only wanted to make sure Kagami was alright... so why? What should he even text back? Can he even justify his actions?

He literally left his girlfriend in the middle of the night to go meet another girl... it looks terrible. He knew he was dense but... he can understand now why Marinette was crying. He looks like a cheater! B-but he wasn't! He would never do that to her! He needed to make her see that. The only thing he can hope for now is to be completely honest and tell her everything.

Adrien:

I'm so sorry Marinette. I was going to tell you about Kagami wanting to talk to me but you were asleep and I didn't want to wake you up. She messaged me last night because that was when she was available to talk. I only wanted to see if she was alright because when Luka and I went to eat, he explained that she went through a lot and I thought it was because of me. I felt terrible.

Marinette:

You didn't leave a note or a text or anything Adrien. How can I trust you?

Adrien:

I have never lied to you before... Please just trust me. Have I ever lied to you?

Adrien stared at his phone screen and swallowed, hoping his text would be enough to convince her. She loved him right? Not only did he love her but his identity was being risked here. This was bad. Not saying that she would tell anyone his identity but... if she were to get akumatized... she could very well be manipulated.

He understood why Ladybug didn't want anyone knowing their identities now. It was to keep them safe as well. He was only thinking about one thing, who she was under the mask. Though growing up he strayed away from idolizing her and started seeing her as an actual person instead of just a love interest and found love himself... Marinette. He couldn't believe he made such foolish mistakes like this and might end up losing her over it.

He saw the bubble keep popping up and disappearing over and over, which ate at his heart. He could tell she was also conflicted with the conversation as he was.

Marinette:

I... think we should talk in person about this. I'll see you this afternoon...

That's it? That's all she is going to text him? Just to talk in person... no response. Ugh... Marinette... you really know how to tease a guy. Though he can't blame her. She is probably talking to Alya and Nino about what's going on. Hopefully, they were on his side about things. Come to think of it, back in high school, they were always trying to get the two together... so hopefully, they might still be on his side... hopefully.

"Do you want eggs with your waffles?" Alya asked, seeing Marinette sit down at the breakfast table.

"Uh... sure." She said, sitting beside Nino.

"Good morning dude." Nino smiled.

"Good morning Nino." Marinette smiled back.

"You feel any better this morning?" Alya asked.

"Mmm... a little." Marinette yawned.

"You going to talk to us now? What happened?" Alya said, placing some breakfast down.

Marinette sat quiet, watching Alya pass breakfast to her Fiance Nino. How happy they looked and how normal they were together. How they have been together since high school. How she wished she could be. Nino and Alya lived together... she thought back to Adrien saying he was staying the night with Nino and told white lies to her. How often had he lied to her?
