Chapter 56

"Chat no! Don't use the miraculous to bring her back! You know she wouldn't want that!" Luka said, gripping Chat noir's arm.

Chat noir turned to Luka with a glare and ripped it from his grip, walking away.

"Just go home Luka. You'll get everything you want soon..." Chat frowned.

"What... do you... mean?" Luka said, confused.

"I said leave me alone!" Chat yelled, turning and jumping away.

Luka watched as Chat noir left. Luka stood there more confused and in a daze than anything. Something was wrong. He knew Marinette died and he was upset but... why would he get everything he wanted soon? Was Chat noir... Adrien... mad at him? But... why? He didn't understand...

Chat noir rushed off, wiping his tears as he sat on another roof. He pulled up pictures of him and Marinette together on his staff and flicked through them until he heard something behind him. He turned his head and saw it was Bunnix.

"Are you ready?" She asked with a frown.

Chat noir detransformed and put in his earrings, seeing Tikki's sad face.

"I'm sorry kid..." Plagg sighed.

"Adrien... You know who Hawkmoth still is. How is this going to work?" Tikki frowned.

"I have a plan... Lucky Charm..." He said, after transforming into Mr. Bug.

"Come on, hurry." Bunnix said, hopping back into her burrow.

"You're going through time? That's dangerous! The lucky charm only works if there's an akuma. There wasn't an Akuma. The only thing it would probably do is get rid of your past self Adrien." Plagg warned.

Mr. Bug shot Plagg a sad look which caused Plagg to go quiet. Plagg knew Adrien had a plan. He didn't know if it would even work but he wanted to at least try. Mr. Bug hopped back into the burrow and saw Marinette laying on a bed in the middle surrounded by a ton of different portals.

"Don't worry. She is safe in here." Bunnix reassured him.

He nodded with a slight frown, trying to push her out of his mind. Bunnix led him over to a portal and he looked inside. He saw her swipe her hand, causing time to go backwards. Mr. Bug heard the earring beep and he knew that time was running out before he lost his lucky charm.

"Please let this work..." He sighed.

"If it doesn't work... You will have to come to terms with it." Bunnix sighed, and stopped the portal showing a past chat noir hopping his way over building tops on a cold winter night.

"Are you ready?" She asked.

"Yeah..." He replied, and hopped through the portal.

Mr. Bug quickly ran over to his past self and used his yo-yo to stop him in his own tracks.

"Huh? Who are- W-what! Is this an illusion?!" The past Chat noir said, getting into a fighting stance.

"Wait! No see! I'm not an illusion kid." Plagg said, flying toward Chat noir.

"No. I'm you from the future. Bunnix helped me. Marinette... died... we... couldn't save her. I need to make this right." Mr. Bug said, looking at his past self. Plagg floated back to Mr. Bug's side.

"Marinette... died? N-no.. that can't be. I wouldn't let that happen. Ladybug and I will save her!" Chat said.

"Marinette is Ladybug! She gave up being the guardian. I'm... the guardian. Marinette died because.. We didn't let her keep a miraculous. We should have let her keep one. Our father... Hawkmoth... killed her..." Mr. Bug said, feeling the rage and anger in his voice but tried his best to hide it.
