Haruto reached school, hand in hand with Doyoung. As much as it made his heart flutter, he knew Doyoung took it as the closeness between them, nothing else. But Haruto, he wasn't gonna let go like he did before. So, after the math class, when they were supposed to walk to their respective language classes, Haruto held Doyoung's hand again.
"Let me walk you to the next class." Haruto leaned down, whispered to Doyoung's ear.
Doyoung was surprised, but didn't let that show. "But you have German now."
"I know."
"That's in the opposite direction."
"So? Why can't I walk to your class first?" Haruto said.
"I mean you obviously can, but why would you?" Doyoung asked. Haruto shrugged. "No reason, I just don't feel like letting you go yet." He strengthened his grip on Doyoung's hand.
"Haruto!" Doyoung spoke a little loudly, "What's gotten into you? You've been acting weird since morning!"
Haruto smirked, "Weird? What kind?"
"I don't know... It's just- you're kinda flirting."
Haruto scooted closer to Doyoung, "Yeah, so? What if I am? Why? Does it make you feel shy?" The last sentence, Haruto whispered it directly into Doyoung's ears, giving him shivers down his spine.
"Yah, Ruto!" Doyoung scooted away. He was about to say more, but his phone rang. And his shy, giddy expression changed.
"Yeah, I'm coming babe."
Babe. So, that didn't change, huh? So Doyoung was, even here, in a relationship with that girl. Haruto saw that coming. Still, his jaw tightened.
"Ruto, I gotta go see my girlfriend, we'll talk later, 'kay?" He ran to his right before Haruto could answer. In fact, Haruto was so busy thinking about everything that he wouldn't have answered even if Doyoung waited.
He was trying hard to remember what had happened on that day exactly 12 years ago. His memory was good, but it didn't help. Such a small detail was impossible to recall. What he did realize though, was that Choi Hyeri was up for something; something that would make Doyoung hate him.
Having nothing to do, he walked to his class. It took him some time to locate his class because practically, he was new. He expected a little scolding but the teacher seemed to like him, so she let him be. Haruto monotonously listened to the words he already knew. He was making plans in his head. How to save Doyoung and how to make Jeongwoo open up to his crush.
The class ended. Haruto walked out. He immediately searched for Doyoung but saw him with a girl. All these years later, the face of that cunning girl enraged him. He didn't know what Hyeri's future was like, because he never looked for her. He knew she got her punishment though. Even so, watching her smiling while holding his Doyoung made him mad inside.
He stood still, fuming inside, when he heard a soft, melodic voice call him.
"Ruto yah?"
Haruto turned around, and saw someone he wished to meet a lot. Park Jeongwoo in his 17.
"Jeongwoo yah!" Haruto smiled in joy. He was grateful to that said guy in countless ways! Watching him again naturally gave him a sense of support and shelter.
However, watching the teenager Jeongwoo also made him laugh a bit, considering how he was familiar with the adult one too well.
"Why are you laughing?" Jeongwoo frowned.
"Nothing.. you just look.. young." Haruto spoke.
"Well cause I am young!" Jeongwoo stated, "I should be asking why you look all buff and strong?"
