—-Chapter 2—-
New Friends
My arms and legs ached. Bruises were all over me and blood was trickling down my bloody and beaten flesh. I tried hard to fight back the tears forming at the side of my eyes but the pain was too much to bear; the water escaped and trailed down my cheeks whilst laughter erupted.
"Aw don't cry. We're only havin' a little fun." He said mockingly at me as he kneeled down in front of my face. He ran his hand through my hair gently and chuckled. "I bet you want Ai don't you? She would make it all better..." I clenched my fists as the other kids sniggered. He continued to pet me and sighed whilst a grin formed on his face. My anger levels started to rise but I couldn't do anything, I was immobile. My arms and legs weren't moving no matter how hard I tried. "She's such a cute girl...why she's even hanging out with a pathetic faggot like you is beyond my knowledge. Maybe she just feels sorry for you, hm?" I knew he was lying, Ai was my best friend. She had always been since she moved to town five years ago, and that hadn't changed even when I told her I was gay. They were messing with me, trying to make me feel depressed; unloved and unwanted by anyone. But I knew there were people who wanted me.
He suddenly stopped stroking my hair and put a finger under my chin. I was forced to look into his unusual turquoise irises. He was smirking. I hated him so much. I felt like giving him a slap. The boy stroked my cheek with his thumb whilst I bared my teeth and breathed heavily. Everyone continued to laugh at me, saying things like 'what a loser' and 'he's gonna die alone.' making sure I could hear they're hateful comments. "Now now, no need to be so hostile, I'm not doing anything wrong." That little- "It's your own fault for being gay isn't it? You need to suffer the consequences. You should be thankful we haven't killed you yet, but of course you're not really suffering then are you? That and the fact..." The boy gripped my chin and leaned in next my ear before whispering "I'm having too much fun messing with you. I can't wait for the day when you'll finally snap and be begging for mercy; being wrapped around my finger. Practically a slave." He pulled back, the smirk still apparent. He stood up and let his hand slip away from my chin. I continued to glare at him; he only chuckled in response. The other kids were just watching now, utterly silent. I had regained a little of my energy by now and had managed to lift myself up so I wasn't lying on the concrete path anymore, however I wasn't able to stand up yet. Everyone started leaving me to suffer. I was crying again now; I covered my face trying to cover up the shame, not that it mattered. I just sat in the middle of the path letting the tears rush down my cheeks and fall down to the ground. "Villa!" I heard a distant voice. "Villa! Are you okay?" It sounded like...Ai. I turned around and running towards me was the red haired girl. Water was leaving her amber eyes and her hands were in front of her. She continued to call my name as she ran up to me. Ai was here, she would help me, she would-

I woke up to see Rock and Mel at either side of my bed, concerned expressions were all over their faces. "Villa? Are you okay?" The boy asked me as the trainer brought her hand up to my cheek. "Y-yeah I'm fine, why?" The pair glanced at each other before looking back to me.
"You were crying pretty loudly, so we both came upstairs to check up on you and you were flailing around, calling for Ai." Rock explained to me. I widened my eyes in shock before I remembered the dream I was having. The day that happened was one of the worst days. I'd always gotten beaten but on days when people were in a practically horrid mood they would say things that would get to me. Or at least try and get to me.
"O-oh...sorry for worrying you." Mel hugged me. We didn't say anything for a while until the woman broke away from me. "Come on, get up. I need to get to school early, and you will anyway because it's your first day." With that she got up from my bed and walked out the room. I exhaled and felt my forehead; it was covered in sweat. I slid out of my bed and looked through my suitcase for some clothes, preferably a long sleeved shirt with trousers. I had to cover up the bruises, I didn't want people asking questions. This time around I was going to do it right. I wasn't going to tell anyone that I was gay, not a single soul; I wasn't going to risk it.
