--Chapter 4--
The Secret of the City and Meeting Roll
The last lesson we all had was English. I met Miss Peach who seemed very nice and sweet but about half way through the lesson her true, slightly frightening self, made an appearance. I am not going to lie, if I had to live with either Miss Peach or Godzilla, I think I'd go with the giant human eating monster that attacked Tokyo.
Lucas was sat with me on the desk next to the window whilst Ninten had to sit next to Claus. I don't think he minded though, he seemed to have fun. Giggling, acting a little goofy; although that was nothing new. Lucas helped me catch up with the work I had missed, informing me on Shakespeare and what part of Much Ado About Nothing we'd read up to. It was certainly an interesting story.
At the end of the lesson Miss Peach wanted to talk to me privately, so Lucas said he'd wait outside the door for me. The long blonde haired woman motioned me to come over to her desk, in which I made hast to get there. She put her focus on me, her eyes softening as if she was going to cry.
"Villa. I know you've only known me for one day; however I want to tell you a secret of mine." She steadied her breathing.
"Back in high school, I had a lot of friends. They were fakes but I was oblivious to it at the time. I-I started dating someone, and suddenly I lost everyone. I was all alone." I nodded politely, not wanting to interrupt.
"Villa, it was another girl. One of the other teachers here; but I'm not going to say who. We dated for a long time but in the end we gave up, too scared to re-live what occurred at school in the real world. Now I'm married to a man." Ah. So she knew what I going through, except maybe without the beating thing.
"So, wait." I spoke up. "Are you attracted to men as well?" The woman bobbed her head up and down, grabbing a tissue and drying away her tears. I felt sorry for her.
"Listen to my words. Villa I have been informed by Mel as to what went on back in New Leaf. You are incredibly brave. If you can stand to go through what they did to you for 3 years, I think you can be yourself here. I want you to show off you're sexuality with pride; do not be afraid of all those people that treat you like dirt, because they cannot accept the truth." She grabbed my shoulders and brought me in for a hug. I enjoyed the hug but at the same time she was hurting my bruised body.
"O-ouch."
"Oh! I apologize. Those bruises must be sore..." Her voice trailed off as she pulled away and took a gentle hold of my left arm.
"May I?" She asked, pinching the end of my sleeve. I accepted her request and she pushed the cloth up, revealing my purple-ish skin. One glance and her face were petrified. She saw all the flesh that had taken a beating and gasped. Her skin turned pale as if she had seen a ghost; I was afraid she might faint!
She covered my arm again and looked deeply into my eyes. She said nothing but stood up and released me. "I'll let you go now. I don't want to keep Lucas or you're cousin...Rock was it? Waiting much longer. Besides I'll be late for a meeting otherwise." She grabbed her things and walked out of the classroom with me by her side. We exited the room and she locked it before waving goodbye and setting off to her meeting.
Lucas kept to his word and waited for me, Ninten also leaning against the wall beside him. They both greeted me with slight angst expressions. "Hey, how did it go?" The blonde asked me as we all proceeded out of the school building.
"It was fine."
"Really? What did you guys even talk about?" Ninten questioned me. Did friends always ask this many questions in one day? I know Ai never did. I didn't respond straight away, thinking up a fib as to why she and I had conversed for so long.
