Taehyung and the alphas stand in front of the priest bowing ceremoniously to the setting moon.

The queen reads, her voice loud booming while her eyes stuck on the old scripture in her hands.

Taehyung move forward bowing to the elderly queen who took off his jeweled crown off his head replacing it with an armor hat, " people may look down at you for being an omega, you will be considered as harmless as a budding up due to your second gender. But my child that's your biggest strength. I trust in the child that I birthed to make the right decision, at the right time. You are the strongest. May the moon goddess guides your path. "

With the final bow to the queen, the emperor and the alphas get in their horses and rushed toward the battlefield leaving behind a few soldiers and wizards to protect the people living in camps.

The war ground was not too far away from the camps however suddenly it feels as if everything is moving at a slow pace.

War is nothing like it is described in folklore, it is not the quick song of courageous battles sung in praises of those who won, it doesn't have a quarter of the adrenaline that is shown in various plays directed to praise the warriors.

It is instead slow like a snail that drags itself slowly leaving behind and the ugly sticky trail that affects the common people more than it can be measured.

Those people who were secretly evacuated from the battle zone might not be directly affected by the cruelties of the war but their lives will not be the same ever.

It was heartbreaking.

Taehyung realised it at the end of the first day of the war when hundreds of dead bodies of the soldiers of both sides were carried to be buried with proper prayers were brought forward.

Eyes teary as some young soldiers who probably have been newly mated have a young pup waiting for them were buried at the Battleground while other soldiers who have their whole life ahead of them were crippled losing their arms or legs in the bloody war.

The sight made Taehyung reel back, who was he fighting for??? For his subjects??? But his subjects are dying anyway while fighting these battles...

The worst thing is that only Taehyung seemed to be so much affected by things going arround him, others look neutral as if seeing so many people die was common nothing to fret over, some praising the courage and patriotism.

But they are the ministers, the privileged ones who do not have to send their kids to the frontlines.

It won't go like this. Taehyung wouldn't let it go on like this.

He stormed out of the little camp, brisk walking toward the camp set up near to the battleground where the alphas were staying.

Inside the camp there was a bit of chaos, Namjoon and Jungkook were laying on the bed dozing in and out of consciousness, injured as Seokjin and Jimin along with a medic were helping them clean and dress up the wound as Hoseok and Yoongi covered in blood not sure their own or someone else, was hunched over the map discussing battle strategy.

This scene further solidified Taehyung's decision. This war has to end by tomorrow, it would be either him or the Alpha that has caused a ruckus in their empire.

" Alpha Hoseok. Send the battle challenge to their head Alpha from me. Let's end this war by tomorrow"

Everyone in the room went silent, frozen in their spot looking at Taehyung with wide eyes mouth agape.

"No, you cannot do this... What do you mean challenge, Usual challenges are thrown after at least a month of the war. It had been just a day." Namjoon yelled his one hand pressed firmly against his wound and a burning stare held at Taehyung.

" A MONTH ??? I am supposed to sit in the back camp while my mates and my soldiers are getting killed for a month. You must have mistaken me, Alpha Kim "
Taehyung seethed as if the mere thought of that is repulsive to him.

" No, but your highness you can not just give a challenge after the first day, it has never happened before " Jungkook's eyes hold a plea for Taehyung to reconsider.

However, Taehyung just turned his face away completely ignoring whatever his alphas would want to say to dissuade him from taking such a decision.

" just... Just give them an option to either concede or to accept the challenge" he turned around walking towards the camp door, before getting out he turned around a bit, "I know what I am doing, do not get in between" with that he was out of the camp leaving all the Alpha's in daze.
