Chapter 4: Water Bucket

"Only the beginning?" Edward asked, probably trying to search my brain

"Sorry, my mind is not always available for access." I responded

He gave me a funny look, but didn't question further

"Ok, so once I was there I was so confused. I mean after a few seconds I knew what had to be done, but I didn't have the chance," I answered sadly, "you all know what happened." I whispered

"How come we didn't see you then?" Emmett asked me

My eyes flickered over to him, "That's because when I want to be," I froze for a second, concentrating on becoming invisible, "I can do that."

"NO FREAKING WAY!" Emmett yelled

"Emmett!' Esme scolded

I laughed before turning myself visible again, "It does come in handy at times."

My face clouded over, "Like when there is a malicious vampire on the hunt for the person that you are working your ass off to pro_" I stopped myself before I lost absolute control, and focused on taking deep steady breaths

"What?" Edward asked jumping up from his seat, "You knew about James?" he frantically asked

All that I could do was nod, and from the corner of my eye I could see Bella visably flinch.

"Don't worry, he's gone now." I cooed

"I know." she breathed

"Who are you?" Edward asked coldly causing me to coward away from him

"EDWARD!" Alice yelled, appearing right in front of him, "DON'T YOU EVER USE THAT TONE WITH JESSICA AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR ME?" She screamed

"Alice it's ok_" she cut me off

"NO IT'S NOT! ALL THE THINGS YOU HAVE DONE FOR US, ALL THE TROUBLE THAT YOU PUT YOURSELF THROUGH FOR  US, IT IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT OK!" She said glaring at Edward

"Thanks Alice for the support, but he has every right to be angry with me." I answered sinking down to the couch, "I lied! I lied to all of you, I have been lying this whole time! I just didn't want to bother the future. I know that I had no right to interfere in the first place, but I love this place. It's like my second home. A better home. Even though it does have it's up's and down's, this is where I am meant to be. Whether or not I am your protector." I sobbed

Everyone gasped apart from Alice who was still sending death glares to Edward.

"Excuse me" Carlisle stepped in "Did you just say protector?"

"Yes," I responded "I have been from the moment Bella was in trouble, any kind of trouble. But once she picked her route, I chose to protect all of you, and of course that included Jacob and Renesmee." I gushed

It felt so good to finally get those words out, to finally have them know the truth.

Before I knew it I was in an embrace, "Thank you so much!" Bella sobbed tearlessly into my shoulder

I tried to smile, "Hey, it's my job."

She held on to me as if her life depended on it, and Edward had to help pry her off of me.

I turned away, the emotions in the room were way to much to take in.

"Jessica?" I heard a familiar voice

I turned around, "Yes, Edward?" I questioned

He didn't respond, but he didn't need to his eyes showed it all, and once again before I could say another word I was being engulfed in another hug.

"I'm so sorry." he mumbled into my shoulder

I laughed, "Like I said, it's my job."

he laughed a little as well before placing me down on my feet.

"What did I say?" Emmett boomed, "I liked her from the beginning!" 

"Yeah, that's not it," I whispered nervously, "I'm also from... um...a different world."

At that precise moment, you could have heard a pin drop.
