Chapter 18: Nightmare

RECAP : Just as she was about to turn and run away, she stopped, turned around and ran over to give me a hug and “thank you so much” before running off into the forest that would now hold not but one more memory within it.

JESSICA'S POV:

Chapter 18: Nightmare

I took my time with getting back, wandering a bit more in my other world. But when I did get back, I was in a surprisingly calm state. I changed into a comfy pair of sweats and my Cullens sweatshirt and curled up in a tight ball on my bed. My stuffed animal wolf was gaurding me from his position by my arm. With my many pillows surrounding me and my blanket tucked warmly around me, I quickly fell asleep.

I woke up in a room that although it was lit up and bright, felt unusually scary and intimidating. I walked around the room in hopes of finding out where on earth I was, but when I tried to pull the door open it just stayed tightly shut. I backed up enough to try and kick it down but it didn't even show a sign of breaking.

Just when I was moments from trying to knock it down again, someone opened it for me. I didn't need to see the person to automatically know who it was because of the voice. His voice was unlike most, it seemed to be quite and gentle yet menacing and hurtful at the same time. Aro walked towards my shaking figure with a happy smirk on his face. I have seen him in enough battles to recognize that face as being one of arrogence, a face that he only portrayed when he had won.

"Jessica darling. Nothing will stop you from having to choose. You can run through as many foressts as you would like, but to each forest there is an ending." Aro smiled a sickening grin at me that made me want to run as far away as I possibly could.

"What do you mean?" I stumbled, looking up at the now vanished figure.

I repeated the same question helplessly over and over again, but all that was left of Aro were his words and his terrifying laugh.

I awoke with a start, getting head rush from sitting up so quickly. My hand flew to my head trying to end the circles that were forming in my head. Suddenly, everything from the dream came rushing back to me. Was it just a dream or something more? My mind was racing at a speed of one hundred miles per hour. Aro's words kept repeating themselves over and over again. What was it that I had to choose?

I asked myself these questions over and over again until I gave up and flopped down on my bed with a new-formed headache. I was moments from falling back asleep when the sound of my mom's vocie interrupted my slumber.

"Jessica your going to be late for school!" she screamed probably from the bottom of the staircase.

I groaned as I pushed the covers off of myself and got ready for the day ahead. I decided to try something new for a change and wear something nice. I put on a pair of nice leggings that I had just bought, a black tank top and a nice grey cardiagan on top. I cocked my head to the side as I starred at my options of shoes. It was beetween my low black boots or my high-heeled brown boots that made me seem twice as taller than I actually was, which was a good thing because I was pretty short. I finally decided on the brown pair and finished the look up with some light makeup to make my green eyese pop a bit more.

I walked down the stairs and found my mom sitting at the kitchen table reading some sort of health book. She glanced up at me from her health book as I entered the room and walked to the pantry to grab a cereal bar.

"Wow. You look nice," She complimented me, "Now why can't you wear stuff like that all the time?" she asked and diverted her focus back to her book.

I rolled my eyes and said a quick goodbye before grabbing my bag and walking out the door towards the school. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I quickly pulled it out to see a text message from Claire that said that she would be getting a ride today, I sighed and plugged my ear buds into my ears before continuing my journey. By the time I got to school my nightmare was pretty much out of my thoughts.

The day continued easily and I was actually enjoying my day. That all ended though when I was walking to my next class when I was suddenly pulled into another hallway. I tried to defend myself but it was to no use, they were much stronger then me.

"What do you want?" I spat

They didn't answer that question instead all I heard was something that I was never expecting to hear in my life.

"I know your secret."
