I didn't realize what was happening until I was being hauled to the hospital in a Ambulance.
But, Josh wasn't in the ambulance. Is he hurt, too? Oh my God. I did not just hurt someone who thinks they have the same diagnosis as me. I WANT TO JUST DIE!
THIS PAIN SUCKS! THE PAIN IN MY HEART, THE PAIN IN MY LUNGS, AND THE PAIN IN MY...Wait...my leg is broken. Shit.
"Oh my God! It hurts so bad! Oh God, please. Please. PLEASE HELP!" I scream. And the guys in the ambulance tell me to calm down and they knock me out with pills.
I wake up in the hospital bed. My mom and dad stand before me. Talking to the doctor, so I pretend to still be asleep so I can hear what happened.
"There was a passenger in the car with Hazel. He is injured just like she is. Two cars slammed into each side of the car. Unfortunately, we cannot find out why Hazel pressed the brakes until she wakes up and tells us." The doctor says.
My dad speaks up, "How is Hazel injured?"
"The car that hit on her side, caused her leg to get damaged but not broken. She will have to be in a wheel chair. Since she has lung cancer, she can't do crutches so we are willing to give her a wheel chair." The doctor sits my parents down in the chairs next to me.
I finally decide to quit pretending and wake up. "Hey Hazel. How are you feeling?" Dr. Dobbins asks.
"My leg hurts. My lungs hurt."
"Its okay. We did tests. Your lungs are like normal and your leg is fairly injured. Now that you're awake, tell us why you decided to stop in the middle of the street." Ugh. I think I'm going to lie. Yeah I think lying is the best option.
