"Is this Hazel?" An American woman asks through the phone.
"It depends..."
"Well, this is Mrs. Mullins and we were wondering if you could come down to the local coffee shop. I have an amazing opportunity for you!" She is so full of joy that it almost scares me.
"Uh, yeah. I mean, sure. I'll be there in about 5 minutes."
I put on a black 'Pink Floyd' shirt my dad bought for me a long time ago at one of their concerts and leave for the coffee shop.
When I get to The Coffee Kingdom, I find a seat and sit down. I fuss with my oxygen tank and everyone stares.
"WHAT?! HAVEN'T YOU EVER SEEN A FUCKING PERSON BEFORE?! HUH? YEAH SO STOP FUCKING STARING!" I didn't really say it, but I was about to.
The door opens, and shakes the bells that still hung from Christmas.
"Are you..." A woman approaches me but looks down at my oxygen tank and knows that I'm Hazel.
"Yes, I'm Hazel." I say.
I remember a Mrs. Mullins from somewhere but I couldn't remember where I had met her.
"Oh my gosh. Its been so long! I remember when you were a baby. Do you remember me?" She is familiar looking too.
"To be honest, I really can't remember anything before I turned 12." I fake smile.
She takes a seat and talks. "Well, I used to be your babysitter. I just recently heard about a guy from around here dying from cancer a couple of months ago. Do you know about it?"
I shake my head no because I really didn't think of anyone dying.
