"IMA KILL YOU, MMH ... JUST YOU WAIT..." You were in the most pain you think you've ever been in. Miles decided to take you and the unconscious man to Aaron's place seeing as it was the only place you guys could go. Breaking into his apartment was surprisingly easy.

He should get better locks.

Your body screamed at you to sit down, the way you and Miles bumped and rushed across the city was hard to believe in itself.

That happened and you were laying on Aaron's couch battered and bruised groaning in pain at every twist and contort whenever you moved.

You were just happy nothing happened to your face.

"I know I said I would kill you once we got down, but breathing is a bit of a job right now, so I'll get back to you on that."

Miles looks over at your crumpled heap of a body and sighed. His eyes met the ceiling. He wished there was a better way he had handled that, he would have just left you there but the cops were after him so he had to take you.

And not because he didn't want to, but because he wanted his first time swinging with you to be memorable. He wanted to take you to the highest point of the city and look down at the busy streets with you. The wind in your hair and the glow in your eyes he could just imagine it and he knew you would've looked spectacular.

Wide-eyed with a precious smile on your face, amused by the big shining city just below your feet, the whole world in the palm of your hands.

So beautiful. So perfect. So captivating.

After he masters his new abilities.

He was mad at himself for getting you both in that situation, you were badly hurt because of his inability to control and understand his powers.

And he hated that.

He hated that when he looked at you he could feel how much pain you were in. His eyes find you and he frowns putting his head down he folds into himself. He should just leave you here. He needs to do the rest of this by himself he can't put you in any more danger.

He didn't want to. He could do this, he had to. But then again, how could he? His whole life it's been him and you against the world. Y/n and Miles. He had to do this by himself but he wouldn't know the first step.

Well, shit. That's embarrassing. Had you coddled him that much? To the point where he couldn't do a simple task without you? No, he was just way in over his head about the whole thing. A sane person couldn't do this alone, let alone a teenager.

He needed-

"Miles, I know what you're doing."

His head snaps up and his eyes lock onto your face, "Stop it, it wasn't your fault you have no idea how to control your powers." You were trying to comfort him. And you were right.
