"Why are you in such a rush?"Said a boy as he ran over to his friend.
His friend turned to him with a nervous smile. Her eyes seemed to dart from side to side as she looked around her. The two were outside their apartment complex, and the boy just caught her sneaking in.
The girl sighs, annoyed with herself for getting intercepted.
"Okay... so you know how I promised my mom that I'm not doing what she thinks I'm doing?" The girl explained with an anxious laugh. She picked at the skin on her the action easing her mind.
Miles gives her a look, he already knows where this is heading, "Yeah...?" He finally catches his breath from running after her. Miles stands tall as he watches her nervously shift from foot to foot.
The girl hesitated but one look at Miles and he had her spilling the words out against her will, "Well, I lied! I'm doing exactly what she thinks I'm doing!" Her hands go up in defeat.
Miles sighed a tired sigh, he saw this coming, it's Y/n after all. Four walls and a lecture weren't going to keep you benched.
You're quick to perk up again, "Okay, I need you to keep this top secret." Miles nods. Without knowing what you were going to say. He would agree with you even if you said you killed someone.
"I'm only showing you this because you said we would be friends forever." Her eyes held a promise, they held a light that Miles never failed to notice.
"We will be. Best friends forever. I swear I'll keep it top-secret, just between you and me." He points to your chest then his with a shy smile. It's then you hold out your pinky, Miles looked down at your finger as his eyes traveled up to your eyes.
"Promise me." You whispered, your words were gentle and held vulnerability.
And Miles doesn't hesitate to lock his pinky with yours. He smiles, "I promise." The two of you bring your lips to your hands and give them a soft kiss, sealing the promise.
You're the first to pull away, excitement beaming off you. Let's hurry before your dad gets here then!"
The first thing Y/n does is run up the stairs of her fire escape. It's twelve thirty-five am and it was a school night. If you put two and two together you can figure out that it's way past their bedtimes. So the question is, what were you doing out this late?
