Ch. 7 I don't want to make her uncomfortable

Oliver's Hazel eyes intently stared at his daughter and Jared. He didn't like the sudden chemistry the two teens were oozing just by staring at each other. He took a bite of his hamburger and took a sip of his rootbeer. He puts the plate down at a table and walks towards his daughter and Jared.

" Where are you going?" Kevin asked when he saw his brother-in-law walk towards his niece and Jared.

Billy's dark brown eyes blinked when he saw his brother-in-law walk towards his niece and Jared. He amusingly shakes his head since he figured that the older male wanted to intimidate Jared for grabbing his niece's attention.

" I'm glad you will be living at the tribe," Jared widely smiled, feeling thrilled to know that he will get to see Luna every day at the tribe.

Luna shyly stared at Jared since she didn't know what to say. Her chocolate brown eyes blinked, and she blushed, looking and feeling embarrassed when she saw her father walking up to her and Jared.

" Dad?" Luna raised an eyebrow when she saw her father stand next to her and Jared.

Jared turns his gaze to Oliver, and the two males intently stare at one another.

" Hello, Sir," Jared formally greets Oliver.

Oliver hummed in response.

Nora frowned when she saw her husband standing next to their daughter and Jared.

' Oh, Ollie. Please, don't embarrass our daughter,' Nora internally prays.

" Hello. What is your name, young man?" Oliver asked, wanting to befriend Jared.

Luna stared at her father with mixed emotions. She didn't like that her father was staring at Jared with an intimidating gaze.

' Why is Dad acting like this? I just met Jared. He isn't my boyfriend,' Luna asked herself.

" My name is Jared Cameron, Sir," Jared formally speaks.

Luna looked away and glanced at Jared.

' And why is he being so formal to my Dad?' Luna asked, looking and feeling embarrassed of the situation.

" Dad!" Luna calls out, causing Oliver and Jared to stare at her. " You left your food at the table, and it's going to get cold if you don't eat it. Don't complain if you take a bite and it is cold to eat," She firmly speaks.

" I'm not going to complain, Sweetheart," Oliver reassures. " I just wanted to meet your friend. It is a Bonfire, you know. We can mingle," He responded.

Luna frowned at her father's response. She didn't like that he was overprotective because Jared spoke to her. She looks at her surroundings and catches her mother's eye.

" Mom! Do something?" Luna gives her mother a look, and the two females communicate through their eyes.

Nora looks away and turns her gaze to her two sisters and friends.

" I'll be right back. Mama to the rescue," Nora whispered.

The four females watched Nora walk towards Luna, Jared, and Oliver amusingly.

Oliver opened his mouth to say something, but Nora cut him off.

" Oliver Daniel Brown. What are you doing?" Nora asked while approaching the two teens and the male adult.

Luna sighed in relief when she heard her mother say her father's full name. The two always know that they are in trouble if her mother says their full name.

Oliver turns his attention to his wife.

" Hey, Love. I just wanted to meet our girl's friend," Oliver innocently stared at his wife.
