The Paw Patroller continued to move forward as Marshall, Everest, Chase, Rubble and Ryder sat around the vehicle as they relaxed and gave space for Marshall's family in the vehicle.
"How are you feeling right now, Marshall?" Everest asked as she laid next to the dalmatian. His family were near them as well.
"N-Not too bad, Ev. Thank you," Marshall replied with shaky confidence. He wasn't doing alright right now, he loved his family, but the thoughts of what they thought about him had been plaguing his mind for far too long.
"I'm happy to hear that, Marshy. If you need anything, let me know. Please." Everest told Marshall as his family laid down near them.
"S-so Marshy, how are you feeling?" Smoke asked as she ran one of her paws through her son's fur, trying to calm the now hyperventilating dalmatian down.
"I-I don't know, mom. H-How have things been without me back home?" Marshall asked as he buried his head into his mother's fur. He remembered the thoughts that had been running through his head before his family were visiting; they still plagued his mind, but being in the embrace of his mother and the company of his two cousins and father felt soothing in a way.
"I wish I could say things have felt the same in our hometown, but these past few years especially it's felt like the town lost a beacon of light." Smoke said as she continued to embrace her son, trying to hint at what that beacon of light was.
"Y-You don't mean me, do you mom? T-There's no way you do, I still remember what happened before I left." Marshall said as he continued to cry.
"I do, Marshy. It was never your fault, and we don't blame you. In fact, we wanted to talk to you about the next steps after it before you made your decision. How have th-things been with the Paw Patrol?" Smoke said as Marshall's cousins cuddled into the dalmatian.
"Great, thank you... mom." Marshall said as he continued to bury his head into her fur.
And for Smoke, just hearing Marshall call her mom after so long of not seeing her son made her feel all sorts of things inside of her body, it warmed the hearts of every pup there, and made Ryder feel extremely happy that this reunion was going on. Marshall clearly needed this for the sake of his mental health.
"So Ryder, what should we do now?" Blaze asked as he looked over to the leader of the Paw Patrol.
"Right now, we should get some rest. We'll be back in Adventure Bay in a few hours and I'm sure we're all exhausted." Ryder said as he sat back down next to Robo dog.
Chase, Marshall and Everest fell asleep quickly, Chase was lying down on one of the Paw Patroller's couches, with Marshall cuddling into his mom who had fallen asleep as well by now. And Everest was cuddling into the love of her life as she slept as well.
However, Rubble, Cookie and Kai had far too much energy to sleep right now. Rubble was digging through his yellow and black travel bag he had packed in the lookout and found a lot of treats, which even he was surprised he hadn't eaten yet.
But because he hadn't eaten the treats yet, and with Cookie and Kai giving him the puppy dog eyes, Rubble couldn't resist the urge to give them some treats as well.
"Did your big brother Marshall tell both of you that I can't resist puppy dog eyes? Because I can't," Rubble said as he passed some treats over to Marshall's siblings.
"He didn't, at least not that I remember. But what I do know is that these treats are very delicious. Where do you get them?" Cookie said as she ate the small pile of treats Rubble had given her.
"The treat dispensers at the lookout, our base in Adventure Bay." Rubble said, knowing exactly how excited this would make Marshall's siblings, with how much they loved these treats.
