Another Way to Say Goodbye

*Nicks POV*

I sat with Abby on the couch watching a movie. Melanie was running around chasing Jade and Gene. Melanie believed I was her father, and Gene agreed it was best. Abby leaned into me and sighed. I kissed her hair and she smiled. I smiled at her smile. It was so beautiful. How did I get lucky enough to get a forgiving mate? I hugged her and she laughed slightly.

"What's so funny?" I asked barely holding in my own laughter.

"You. You have not let me go since you woke up this morning. I had to trick you into getting me food to use the bathroom, twice." She laughed. Her laugh was so addicting.

"I never want to lose you." I said with a serious tone. She stopped laughing and looked into my eyes. "I can't live with myself if you get hurt, or even leave. I can't lose you when I am just getting you back."

"Shh. Its ok, I am not going anywhere. Not for a long time." I kissed her soft lips. She kissed back and then pulled away. It was are first real kiss since she was kidnapped. I dont wat to push her, she will go at her own pace. She leaned against me again and her breathing slowed down. She slept in my lap for the rest of the movie.

When the movie was over I carried her to our bed. Gene put Melanie down a few minutes ago. We turned the bedroom next to ours into her room. Lance baught some paint and we spent the day painting her room. It was a soft blue with a purple mix. Her curtains were blue as well, her bedset matched the paint.

I smiled at Melanie when I closed her door and went into our room. Abby was hugging her pillow with a look of horror on her face. She was shaking and I ran to her. I woke her up and pulled her into me. She looked into my eyes and I saw all her pain sitting right there ready to break out at any moment. I curled up next to her and after she fell asleep I fell asleep.

*Abby's POV*

I woke up to an empty bed. I looked around and saw Nick had left. Maybe he had a meeting, no need to freak out. I got up and went to take a shower. The hot water poured down my back. Even after my shower yesterday and the day before, I still felt dirty. I scrubbed every part of my body, I felt a little better. I got out and wrapped a towel around my body. I went to my closet and grabbed my clothes.

After I got dressed I went down to Nick's office to see if he was there. I heard a giggle and my heart dropped. I busted the door open to find Nick pinning a Red head to the wall. They sprung apart when I walked in. Like the night I found Nick with Lakelyn. Tears fell down my face as I ran out of the house. I knew it was to good for Nick to love me. I dont deserve anyone. Out of no where a pack of wolves jumped out of to bushes. I screamed as the first one launched at me. Then blackness. The last thing that went across my mind was the way Nick smiled at her, the way she smiled at him.

*Nick's POV*

A knock at the door woke me up the next morning. I got up to make sure Abby didn't get disturbed. I opened the door and Jace was standing there. He glanced in the room and pain filled his eyes.

"You have a meeting. Cursing Viens Pack is planning another attack." Jace said.

"When is there attack coming?" I asked. I have to protect Abby at all costs.

"I don't know, she didn't say. She..."

"Wait, a she?" I cut him off. "Who is she? Why is she here telling us things?"

"She doesn't want you to know her name yet, but she is requesting to see you alone. She said Alpha confidentiality." I nodded and started walking down the stairs. I knocked on my office door and went in. My heart nearly stopped.
