*Abby's POV*
I was released from the doctor a few hours ago. I took a shower and dressed in some sweats. Jace said that this was my room, so I am guessing that those other clothes must be Nick's. I sat on the bed and stared at the photos on the night stand, thats when I noticed a peice of paper on the ground. I picked it up and read it, it was a song. Writen by Nick too. I grabbed the guitar sitting by the table and I ran my fingers across the guitar strings. A flash of memory came back, I know how to play the guitar.
I put the sheet of music on the guitar stand and started playing the notes. It was amazing, I looked around to see if anyone was looking and I saw a stack of more papers on the dresser with a pen. I got up and saw they were lyrics. I went over to the guitar and hummed the tune while reading the lyrics. It was a perfect match. I ran to the door and stuck my head out, no one was coming. Good. I sat back on the bed and started playing. (>Broken by Lifehouse<)
The broken clock is a comfort, it helps me sleep tonight
Maybe it can stop tomorrow from stealing all my time
I am here still waiting though i still have my doubts
I am damaged at best, like you've already figured out
I'm falling apart, I'm barely breathing
With a broken heart that's still beating
In the pain, there is healing
In your name I find meaning
So I'm holdin' on, I'm holdin' on, I'm holdin' on
I'm barely holdin' on to you
The broken locks were a warning you got inside my head
I tried my best to be guarded, I'm an open book instead
I still see your reflection inside of my eyes
That are looking for a purpose, they're still looking for life
I'm falling apart, I'm barely breathing
with a broken heart that's still beating
In the pain (in the pain), is there healing
In your name (in your name) I find meaning
So I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'), I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'), I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin')
I'm barely holdin' on to you
I'm hangin' on another day
Just to see what you throw my way
And I'm hanging on to the words you say
You said that I will be OK
The broken lights on the freeway left me here alone
I may have lost my way now, haven't forgotten my way home
I'm falling apart, I'm barely breathing
with a broken heart that's still beating
In the pain(In the pain) there is healing
In your name I find meaning
So I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'), I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'), I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'),
I'm barely holdin' on to you
I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'), I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'), I'm holdin' on (I'm still holdin'),
I'm barely holdin' on to you
As I finished the song I noticed a person standing in the doorway. Nick.
"I am so sorry. I saw it, and it looked so good. I just wanted to play it..." I placed the guitar down and started backing up to the wall. He kept getting closer to me. What if he was going to hit me, like he said he use to.
"Shhh. It's ok. I actually wrote it with you in mind." He stopped inches away from me. My heart was pounding in my chest. He raised his hand and I flinched. His warm hand didn't hit me, he lifted my chin up a little. I then felt soft lips touch mine. I melted.
*Nick's POV*
Abby stood there in shock. I kissed her, but she still looked scared. Why did her touching my guitar bring back that memory, but me kissing her didn't? I looked into her eyes and I fell for her, again. My heart was beating a mile a minute and there was nothing I could do about it. I pushed myself away from the wall and started to put my guitar away.
Abby sat down on the wall and pulled her knees to her chest. She was watching me as I picked up the room. I hated seeing her like this, I needed to know that she was ok, that she still loved me deep down. I wanted to ask her so many questions, but there is only one that I can ask without scaring her off any more than I already have.
"Do you want anything? Water, food, juice?" I asked before I grabbed the door handel.
"Yes." She whispered. I turned around to she her standing and walking closer to me, slowly.
"What can I get for you?" She shook her head and gave a small smile. I nearly bursted out laughing like an idiot, she smiled at me...
"I want to know if I can truely trust you, if I can count on you helping me get through all of this." She jestered to the whole room. "I want to know if I can count on my wolf when she tells me that you need me there for you. To forgive you no matter what happens. I want... no I need to know that I can trust you as a.... mate."
