"Somewhere familiar?" You repeat the child's words.

Since Paimon wanted to stay vague, Lumine had to tell you about the whole catastrophe with Jean and that for some reason, Kaeya had asked for your presence about something important.

Jean was so overworked that she burnt herself out again and had to get healed by her sister, Barbara.

You have no idea why you were suddenly involved though, let alone get summoned by the Cavalry Captain.

"And another thing, we can't come with you inside the headquarters. We still need to check up on Jean at the Cathedral." Lumine states and you nod.

"That's fine with me. Are we going now?" You stand up from the couch but the traveler shakes her head and gave Paimon a stare, her hands crossing in a playful manner.

"Maybe in a few hours since it's still early. Also, Paimon wants to eat something first." She replies. "She was so hungry she didn't want me to quickly cook eggs for her."

"Paimon's tummy can't wait any longer! Paimon need food that's already cooked!" Paimon squeaks.

Of course, you smile at the little fairy as she excused herself to go find the kitchen and get something to fill her stomach.

While Paimon got busy in the kitchen, Lumine advised you to finish your pending tasks if you had any but you told her that you never did anything important and continued chatting with her until your other friend finished her business.

When the three of you arrived in Mondstadt, you couldn't help but regret not staying a little while in the city now that you were back. Instead of just picking flowers and replying to letters for the past few days in Liyue, you could've gone and socialized more with the people here.

But after all, you were the one who got yourself in trouble when Lumine specifically said yesterday to not make a move yet and just rest.

You knock on the closed entrance of the Grand Master's office before letting yourself in.

As expected, Kaeya was the one inside, shuffling through piles of documents that he entrusted himself in as a volunteer. If someone unfamiliar with his style were to walk in here and saw his current behavior, they would think that he's someone who takes his assigned duties very seriously.

But you weren't unfamiliar with him.

"You can stop acting like you're working hard now." You cross your arms as he greeted you with his usual smirk.

That smirk whenever he was in the mood to tease you about something stupid.

He reminded you of someone unpleasant.

Every time you get the chance to interact with him, you wonder how the two of you got along well together.

"Lady [Name], a pleasure to see you again too." He sets down the papers and rests his elbows on the table. "Since you like it when matters are told right away, I won't beat around the bush this time."

"That's quite unusual for someone like you to say, Captain Kaeya. Is it really something important?" You played along, placing the tip of your pointing finger on your chin.

"Yes. To be frank, I need you to go and meet the others at Angel's Share. We're throwing a surprise party for Master Jean."

"Oh?" You stop with your little play and stared at him like he was some sort of difficult puzzle to solve.

When you finally figured out that he was being serious, it was your turn to give him a mocking smirk. "Oh my. You, throwing a party for a dear friend and doing friendly gestures? This is gold."
