You wanted to punch the living lights out of yourself.
How could you allow Xingqiu to let him see your behavior in such a state last night?
Groaning both in embarrassment and exhaustion, you lazily got up from the bed and rubbed your eyes as you relished in the aftermath.
And while you were adjusting to the light of the room, the door slowly opened, which made you jump a bit.
It was the traveler, thank the Gods. You were really not in the right head space to deal with him this morning.
"Oh, good morning." She says, smiling. "I'm sorry I let myself in. I wanted to wake you up, but it looks like you're already up and about."
"It's okay—" You reply as you wave your hand tiredly, voice hoarse, only realizing now that your throat was dry as Sumeru's desert. The thirst was starting to uncomfortably remain in your consciousness now.
Fortunately, Lumine seemed to know what you were going through since she was seen holding a bowl of soup. "We figured you wanted something to eat and drink at the same time," She says softly as she maneuvers to your bed, offering the food.
"This is not really a good time to see me," You admit as you receive the bowl and carefully start consuming it, now only thinking about how bad a hangover was for one's physical and mental health. "But thank you for coming over."
"Mhm," She acknowledged your words and made her way to the closed curtains near your window. "I heard from someone you wanted to see me first thing in the morning."
You wince at the subtlety of her reply since you already knew who it was. You remember it all too well.
"I might have an idea who it is," You grumble and Lumine laughs.
"Do you mind?" She asks and turns to you, slightly tugging on the curtains to ask for your permission. "You need some sunlight."
You nod and once the curtains are out of the way, the sunlight pricked your skin the minute it made contact with your body.
"Why don't you get some rest today? Take it easy."
"Lumine, I'm not sick. And I believe I haven't drank that much." You place down the already empty bowl on the bedside table.
"You didn't." She confirms, "Idette says that you're much worse when actually drunk. Throwing up, crying—"
You fake a cough to cut her off with a frown. She was already this teasing in the morning and you didn't mind, but this feeling was far too familiar for you.
"Do you know where Xingqiu is?"
You were just curious, of course. He did help you last night so it would only sound normal to ask for his whereabouts the next day.
"I was just about to tell you that." Lumine smiles, "He's in the living room with Paimon, waiting for you to come down."
"Why?" You grimaced at the thought of him leisurely lounging inside your home as he waited for you with some kind of elaborate plan to make up scenarios for your fake engagement or an adventure in the wilderness.
The traveler doesn't have an answer and shrugs, "I didn't ask him. Sorry."
"Will you tell him I won't be coming down?"
"Why not?" Her head tilts a little, wanting a clearer explanation as you get off the bed and approach the changing screen near your wardrobe to change your clothes. "Do you feel sick after the drinking? I can stay with you if you'd like."
You shake your head, "No, I'm just... a bit embarrassed after last night."
Lumine's eyes widened, having no clue of what you meant. "Last night? What happened last night?" She repeats, stepping closer to the screen to hear you more properly.
