CW: Violence (just a little bit tho)
—"So I said, 'it depends' and he said it was something about the engagement so I said, 'as long as you don't propose we actually get married, I suppose it's fine and—" You pause, stopping yourself from moving your hands due to being too immersed in your storytelling, "Hey, are you still listening?"
Your company, who was turning his back away from you, gives you a thumbs-up as he continues to search for something inside the remains of a ruin guard you both defeated earlier.
On the side of the path of Guili Plains, his back was right there in front of you, standing, but you were sitting on a rock—bored.
You sigh, a bit upset with his unanticipated fixation. He was the one who invited you to hang out with him today because your supposed date stood you up—which is an annoying matter since Xingqiu was the only person who did that to you and now this random guy suddenly wanted to do the same? Unbelievable.
It was also his last day here in Liyue Harbor but you thought he was already gone for good—unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
Although you had a bit of an internal conflict about him as a whole person, you already decided to come into good terms with him—since Lumine didn't hold as much grudge as you did and for future purposes, of course.
Fortunately for him, he was delighted to know what your reply was after weeks of patience.
"Here, catch." He quickly turns around and tosses a seemingly round item to you, leaving you to frantically catch it and carefully observe what the thing was.
"Thanks... I guess." You say as you made it disappear into wherever space you usually store your book and weapon, already knowing that the item he just tossed you was a chaos core.
You personally don't need it but you were sure to give it to Lumine later. Maybe she would find it handy.
"What did he say after your reply?" He sits beside you and his cheek on his palm, eager to hear more of your retelling of the conversation you had with your apparent fiancé two days ago.
You roll your eyes. "He thanked me for helping him and told me he was going to ask me for something in the near future. This is his second time saying that he wants to tell me something but ends up leaving me with anticipation! I really hate him."
"That's a fun way to leave someone on edge." He chuckles but you frown.
"But not so much on the receiving end." You stand up and tried walking away from him but he only follows you. "Do you have any plans for today?"
"I propose a treasure hunt! But the treasure is—well..." He innocently smiles but either way, you knew he was going to say something ridiculous. "The treasure hoarders."
"Sure, but you do the fighting. I'll just take their treasures."
"That's no fun. What happened to the Lady [Name] who single-handedly captured five treasure hoarders at once, hm? I'm hurt that you didn't tell me the tale yourself." He pretends to sulk which made you roll your eyes. "I didn't know you liked making people suffer. Seems like we have another thing in common! It felt great breaking their fingers, right?"
The very reason why you didn't tell him about the unexpected turn of events from your recent date was that he would start pestering you about it.
Thank goodness you were coincidentally wearing the barrette he gave you because otherwise, he'd also talk nonstop about how you don't like it.
"I suppose the traveler and Paimon told you already." You sigh, remembering that your friends hung out with him yesterday. Paimon was a blabbermouth so you were kind of expecting this. "You're over-exaggerating it. I was just teaching them a lesson. Can we please stop talking about this?"
