33. bad news

SUNHEE'S POV

"Hello Mr.Kim!" I said and bowed when I entered his office.

His eyes met mine and he had that cold look on his face as always.

Yeah, I know we promised each other to make a new start. That means that we need to start everything all over again. It will be like we met for the first time, so we need to behave like strangers.

"I brought the files that you needed to see" I said and placed the files on his desk, always keeping some distance like he always wanted.

You see, he didn't want anyone to touch his desk. It was his personal space.

"Thank you. You may go check on the patient in room 006" he said and I quickly bowed again and left.

I started looking for room 006 and when I finally found it, I gently knocked on the door and when someone responded with a tired 'come in' I entered the room.

The patient's face seemed tired but I managed to recognise who he was.

My friend and taxi driver, Kim Young Jo.

"Kim Young Jo?" I asked in dusbelief and when he finally realised who I am he widened his eyes.

"SunHee?" He also asked.

"Oh you will ask me why I'm here right? Well I got into a car crash, there's nothing to worry about" he said with a tired smile.

"Wait how? Why didn't you call me? I'm so glad I'm working here or else I wouldn't know about it" I saif and checked everything that I needed to check, even his temperature.

"So you broke your arm right? Does it hurt right now?" I asked and took a closer look at his arm.

"Yes it kinda hurts right now" he said.

"Okay take these painkillers whenever it hurts and call me if you need anything okay?" I said and placed some pills on his nightstand.

"Yes I will, thank you. And don't worry about me" he smiled.

"Okay, I need to go now, take care!" I said and waved at him before twisting the door handle and leaving him alone in the room.

I immediately went to find my new nurse friend, Chaeyoung.

It was lunch time already and we always eat together and talk about our day.

I spotted her in the cafeteria. Seems like she was waiting for her latte.

Yes, she loves latte.

When she finally got her latte, she turned around and saw me. She left her coffee on the table and immendiately ran towards to hug me.

"YAYYYY YOU ARE HERE!" She screamed in my ear, something that annoyed me but I alwats forgave her when she apologised.

"Haha you haven't seen me since yesterday, chill. Let's go to our table" I said and took her hand, dragging her to our table.

We were peacefully eating until Kang Taehyun, the cardiologist, ran to me with a worried and terrified look on his face.

"SUNHEE! SUNOO FAINTED AT THE HALLWAY EARLUER AND I CHECKED HIS HEARTBEAT AND EVERYTHING BUT THE SITUATION IS NOT GOOD RIGHT NOW AND IT SEEMS THAT HIS PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE" He said in one breath and then let himself fall onto the ground after so much running.

"WHAT? WHERE IS HE?" Me and Chaeyoung immediately stood up from our seats.

Now I am really worried.

He was already not doing well, but now it's worse?

"HE IS IN ROOM 027 FOLLOW ME" he said and we followed him.

We were running like we never ran before.

And that's because of my best fruend, who probably needs me right now.

He might suffer in the future, which is something that I don't want to happen...
