Ashley's POV:

I stared at the ceiling in the pitch dark. My mind always wanders to Kendrick, the way he holds himself, and his voice is. . .

Shut up!

But no matter how hard I tried, it sat there. Like a golden ray of light I try to cling to it. I had a lot of feelings for other people, but Kendrick. . .he's different. He seems to know how to talk to people.

He seems to be able to hold himself. Whereas I can barely stand on my two feet.

I drift into a fitful sleep and my mind crashes into one of those nightmares of mine.

"Ashley!" I turn to Marcie who has a big smile on her face. She drags Kendrick with her, and then the three of us walk down to the new rollercoaster. "Let's go on that!" Marcie screams, and we go in. No line.

Darkness engulfs us and I can't see. The darkness unfolds and a rollercoaster sat in front of us. Marcie, Kendrick, and I get in with no hesitation. It starts, and we zoom down the tunnels.

We slow, and head up a tall hill. The rail tracks start to shake, and I know something is wrong. "Marcie..."

I look over, but no one is there. My eyes widen, and I turn around. Nothing. I reach the top.

There at the bottom, balancing perfectly is the two. Marcie's smile is fake, and Kendrick is dripping with blood. Both are in fact. "MOVE!" I scream as I plunge down towards them.

Marcie looks at me, " Why?!" Terror grabs my heart, and I cry from them to move.

"NO! LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DOWN TO US! YOU WILL PAY!" Kendrick screams out if nowhere.

I'm stunned into shock, and watch as I crash into them, I watch as they fall. It's my fault. It's my fault. It's all my fault.

"ITS NOT MY FAULT!" I scream awake. My cheeks are damp, and tears contine to fall. Mom runs in, and looks at me with wide eyes. "IM FINE! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" It hurts to push people away.

My mom walks out, and a sad look plagues her features.

I scream. Louder then I ever had. It felt nice, but guilt soon washed over me, and I curled up, and stared at the drawer a few feet away from me. Where the blade sits.

No. Not yet.

Kendrick's POV:

"Kendrick!" I jumped, and looked at my sister who was giving me a strange look. "You okay? I called you three times."

I smiled, and nodded. "Just stuck in my own little world."

Mindy nodded, and shut the door. But my face fell. And I felt the weight of the day bit me hard. I grabbed my phone, and hopped on Facebook. Searching Ashley's name, I sent her a friend request. Will she accept?

Two seconds after that a bling filled the room. I snatched my phone, and smiled when the notification sign showed up.

I sent her a quick text.

Kendrick:

Hey, what's up?

She replied seconds later.

Ashley:

The sky.

I rolled my eyes.

Kendrick:

Sounds like fun.

Ashley:

Totally.

I smile, and text her tell four. That's when I start getting real sleepy and can't think right.

Kendrick:

Got a boyfriend?

Ashley:

No. I wish though. . .

Kendrick:

Well I'm in need of a pretty princess, so Ashley Hammon, will you be my girlfriend?

She didn't text back for a solid minute.

Ashley:

Yes.

My eyes widened, and I smiled, wishing her a good night, I plugged in my phone, and fell asleep happy again. Finally. Something's changing.

Ashley's POV:

I couldnt believe I said yes. But I did. I slowly sank into a sleep that I knew I needed, a sleep that helped me push the nightmares away, and dream for my future.
