Kendrick's POV:

I sat in my living room, and watched the TV a black face. It was always so boring, but there was nothing to do. It's been two weeks since the apology, and I felt like I was forgetting something.

My phone started to buzz.

"What?"

"Today's Ashley's dads funurel."

"It's is?"

I knew I was forgetting something.

"Yeah, Im going to be at your place in an hour."

Luckly I took a shower this morning.

"Alright." I hung up, and jumped to my feet. My house was dead silent. It always was since only me and my dad lived here. Everyone moved out, and it got quiet lonely here.

I walked into my room, and looked around. Walking to my closet, I pulled out my suit that I haven't worn for awhile. "Alrighty then."

Marcie arrived at the time she said she would. She was dressed in a knee length dress that made her look quiet skinny for some reason. Her black hair curled, and laid down her back elegantly.

She smiled at me, and we both walked to her car.

I haven't been at the church in some time. It was huge, and hosted a school for 10th-12th graders. It was also where the local people had church and well, almost everything churchy happened here.

Ashley was sitting in the front, where she was expected. I looked at Marcie as she continued walking, all the way up to the second row of seats.

"May I have everyone's attention." A brother said, and everyones whispering died.

"We are here today, because of an wonderful man. Who has lived a good life, but had it end in tragedy. This man worked everyday of his life, and we will appreciate everything he has given us." The brother ended, and looked at the front row.

"Many we start with his daughter, Ashley." I watched her tense up.

That's strange. . . They have the mothers go first. . .

She stood up, and walked slowly up to the stage. Standing next to her dads casket, she looked into the crowed. She caught my eye, and I could see her hold tears back.

"Im still young, and I don't know what true pain is. I was young when he was told about his problems. But he continued on like it was nothing. I'm now 16, and he has died before he could see who I married, and it hurts. Horribly.

I sometimes think, "What would have happened if he was alive? Watching me now, speak about a dead relative I hardly knew."

Because truth matter is, I didn't know my dad as well as my older brother did. It's hard, to say all these things, because I knew him. But I feel like I never even met him." She clears her throat, and looks at the paper sitting on the pedestal.

"I'm sorry for being selfish, and cruel, to our broken family. I'm sorry I didn't try to stop this. And I know what you have taught me, will carry on, forever.

And as a friend as told me many times, "all stories come to an end.""

She folded her paper, and stepped down. Marcie has glassy eyes, and she clenched her hands into fists.

Claps echoed, and then I realized what they where doing. Going from youngest to oldest.

The last to speak was Carol.

I looked at Ashley, who hasn't let one tear fall.

Ashley's POV:

I walked down to the graveyard with Marcie and Kendrick. Kendrick held my hand as we walked, and Marcie looked forward, with no expression.

We watched, as they did prayer, and lowered the casket down into the ground. The dirt was flung in, and slowly, my dad was now under six feet of dirt.

Everyone left, leaving flowers of some sort, or just nodding at the grave. The grace stone was placed, and read it said, "A friend once told me, endings are forever, but they always end someday." I coughed.

I remember telling him that. It was third grade, and some kid was picking on me. Marcie was helping me out, telling me that things will be okay. And of course, she was watching Doctor Who during the year, so all she did was quot him.

So I switched it up. Telling that to my dad, he laughed, and told me I had a great friend.

I smiled, and turned to walk away. Now that he was gone, my heart will never be the same, but at least it won't be broken.

______________________________

My broken family, and a brother, sat around a meeting table. He was about to read my dads Will to everyone.

""Now, my dear family. We might be broken, but we will be alright. I give everything to Carol, including kids. Melisa, has the privilege to living with them, down in the basement.

Ashley, I have saved up some money for you. I hope it will be enough to marry you off one day. And I hope you make the right choice.

Nichole, I have left you an collage agreement, and an apartment close to your mom. I hope this will be enough to help you with your education.

Scott, I've left you the family farm. You may sell it, or may take care of it. Ether way, it's yours.

And Bruce, dear Bruce, I have a surprise in the old shed of mine. It's yours for the keeping. Take care of it.

Good luck, my family, and I'm sorry, so very sorry.""

I sat with my mouth agape. Did dad just divorce Melisa in his will?

I looked at everyone's faces. Mother Carol had a slight smile, Melisa looked like she was going to kill someone, Nikki looked happy, so did Scott, and Bruce had a confused look.

That's it. That's my family all summed up into one.
