"You never told me your names?" He said. I walked closer to Casey, looking at my reflection in the glass of the door. The darkness outside hides all shadows and the pool outback. I ran my hand through my hair. I was starting to get a feeling in my gut that this wasn't just some lonely bastard wanting to talk. I put a hand in the back pocket of my light blue jeans. My cowhide crop top had ridden up slightly. "Why do you want to know our names?" I asked. It came out a little harsher than I meant it to. " 'Cause I wanna know who I'm looking at?"

I pulled my hand out of my pockets and walked over to the door. I cupped my hand and pressed it and my forehead against the glass of the door that led out to the patio. "What did you just say?" I asked. "I wanna know who I'm talking to," he said. "No the fuck you didn't. You said you wanna know who you're looking at. Are you fucking watching us you perv?" I asked. How fucked up is thid shit? That fit feeling kept getting heavier and heavier. It twisted inside of me pushing panic to the surface. Someone was watching us right now.

I kept looking out the window, reaching over and turning on the outside light. "What?" The voice asked. "I'm hanging up now. Leave us alone and get a fucking life," I told him. "Wait. I thought me and your friend were going to go out," he said. "Yeah. Definitely not. Goodbye," I said. I pulled the phone away from my ear. The last thing I heard was him telling me not to  hang up on him.

Casey looked over at me in question wanting to know what happened. "Fucker is watching us," I told her. She picked the patio door and turned the off. "It's probably just a prank. Some of the boys at school or something," she said. We walked towards the kitchen, the phone still in my hand.

[Ringing]

We stopped and looked at it in my hand. "Shit," Casey swore. I nodded to her to go ahead and I would deal with the creeper. "What?" I asked. "I told you not to hang up on me Y/N," he said. My shoulders tensed at my name. "What do you want?" I asked. "To talk," he said. "Well, try someone else. We don't want to talk to you. Now goodbye!" I said and hung up. I walked back into the kitchen and was just about to tell Casey what happened.

[Ringing]

"Fuck!" I groaned. I clicked the call button and brought it up to my ear. "Listen here, assshole!" I yelled. "No, you listen, you little bitch!" Yeah yelled at me. "You hang up on me again, I'll gut you both like a fish, understood?" I looked at Casey. Her eyes were wide; she heard what just said. "Is this some kind of joke?" I asked.

I won't lie and say I'm not scared because I am. But I grew up with an older brother who taught me how to stick up for myself, how not to take any bullshit from anyone. He could be a little overbearing and I'm pretty sure he's the reason why guys are so afraid to talk to me but he's always protected me. He taught me how to fight for when I find myself in a situation, kinda like I'm in now, and he isn't nearby to take care of it. I would know what to do and have a fighting chance.

"More of a game really," he said. Casey was looking around, backing up towards the fridge. "Can you handle that?" He asked. Casey took off at a run down the hall making sure the doors were locked. I casually walked after her. "How about you take your game and shove it up your ass," I told him. "Can she see me?" He asked. I walked around the corner to see Casey look out the window at the top of the front door. I looked into the living room at the patio doors. I was squinting trying to determine if I was just seeing things or if someone was standing outside them.

Casey came over and took the phone from me. I let her as I continued to look at the patio doors. "Listen, I am two seconds away from calling the police." I walked over beside her where she stood beside the window. She tilted the phone so it was between us. "What do you want?" She cried. "To see  what your insides look like," he said. I snatched the phone from her, "Fuck you, nutcase!" I yelled and hung up. Casey backed away and started to cry.

I wasn't one to cry. I didn't cry when my parents divorced or when my mother abandoned me and Billy. We haven't seen or heard from her for a year. Billy has been acting stranger than usual since she left but he was closer to her than I was. "Casey-" I said. She turned around, tears running down her face. "Don't tell me it's going to be okay. You know, anyone knows it's not going to," she said. I went over and hugged her.

Casey screamed pulling away from me and jumping back. "Who's there?" She asked. I cringed at that. Everyone knows you don't ask that in a horror movie. I mean this isn't a movie but it sure the fuck is starting to feel like it. "I'm calling the police," Casey said, going for the phone. I stopped her and grabbed the phone. "They won't make it in time," I said. We both jumped when it rang. I clicked the call button and lifted it to my ear. "You should never say, "who's there?" Doesn't your friend watch scary movies? It's a deathwish. You might as well just come out here to investigate a strange noise or something."

"Look, fuckrag, you've had your fun, now fuck off!" I said. I tried to keep the trembling out of my voice. "Or else!" Casey yelled. I looked at her and shook my head. "Or else what?" He asked. "Or else my boyfriend will be here any second, and he'll be pissed when he finds out," Casey said, taking the phone. She hiccuped and continued to back up. "I lied! I do have a boyfriend, and he'll be here any second, so you ass better be gone," she said. I walked around here and to the patio doors. There was a figure outside but I couldn't tell what it was and I was too scared to turn on the light to find out.

"I swear. He's big, and he plays football, and he'll kick the shit out of you!" Casey screamed. "So you better just leave," she cried as she got closer to me. In those couple seconds she gasped and her eyes widened. "How do you know his name?" She asked. I looked from her to the doors. Casey handed me the phone and turned around slowly. She went to the doors and flipped the light on. There outside, duct taped to a deck chair was Steve. "Oh god!" Casey cried. She fumbled with the lock.

"I wouldn't do that if I were her," the guy said. She started to open the door and I slammed my hand above her closing it. She looked at me and I shook my head. She cried but locked it again. "Where are you?" I asked. "Guess," he told me. Casey was begging not to hurt Steve. "You're outside watching us... so you're near the patio somewhere; hiding in the shadows," I said. "Mmm. Aren't you a smart one," he said. "But is your friend smart like you?" He asked.
