[8] First trip outside the gates

             

               Paige opens her eyes to see Beth standing above her, she smiles, and Beth returns it.

"I never thought I would see you again sleeping beauty! Where is dad?" And Maggs?" Paige questions the young blonde

"Daddy is gonna come in here soon, he wanted me to clean you up and dress you first" Beth said smiling at her sister

Paige looks down to see she is only in a sports bra and spandex shorts, a line of stitches adorning her thigh.

"Thank you for helping me sleeping beauty" Paige says earning a small laugh from Beth

"That is what you called me the first time we ever spoke, is that going to be you nickname for me?" Beth inquires with a quaint smile

"Yeah, it is" Paige says slowly sitting up to dress

Beth holds onto her sister to stable her body; Paige slips a pair of sweatpants on and a loose t-shirt.

"I haven't dressed like this since before everything, it feels nice" Paige says holding onto her little sister

Daryl clears his throat as he stands at the doorway, Paige looks up at him and gives him a small nod with a light smile on her face.

"There are some people who want to see you and someone you need to meet." Daryl says to the brunette

Paige smiles at the redneck before taking a step forward, nearly falling. Luckily for her she is able to catch the wall, straightening herself out she sees Beth struggling to hold a laugh back.

"Come on, I want to see everyone" Paige says before slowly walking out of the small gray cell, with a slight limp.

Daryl walks ahead and goes into the common area as Carl pulls the girl into a hug.

"Hey bud, where are your parents at?" Paige asks, instantly seeing the young boy tense up

"What happened?" Paige asks worried about their leader and the pregnant woman she had grown quite close to.

"My mom had the baby; she didn't make it. Maggie cut her open to save the baby and she bled out" Carl says looking to the floor

Paige automatically pulls Carl into a tight hug, wanting nothing but to take his pain away even for just a minute. But she was brought out of her thoughts as she heard yelling, coming from the common area.

"Who the hell is this?" She heard Daryl yell

Paige walked towards the entrance of the common room, barely making it there.

"You want to tell us your name?" Rick asked the dark-skinned woman

Paige noticed the blood on the woman and the gaping hole in her leg, also covered in blood.

"Rick! Let me take a look at her leg, she can't tell you her name if she bleeds to death" Paige spoke up, causing Rick, Hershel and the new lady to look at her.

"Paige, I thought you died" Rick said pulling her into a tight hug.

"Thank God! Thank God!" Hershel said as he saw his little girl

"How?" Rick asked pulling away from the hug

"Solitary" She joked

"Poor thing fought her way into a cell, passed out from blood loss and dehydration" Daryl said to the leader

"Blood loss?" Rick questioned, looking between Daryl and Paige

"Idiot also stabbed herself in the leg, but she kept fighting" Daryl told the leader, earning a scoff from the brunette
