[3] Clearing a new home

Paige awoke that morning, just as the sun started to rise. She was the second person awake. The first being Daryl, she wondered if he had even gone to sleep. She sat up and watched the sun rise with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes. It was a new day, but she still had the fear in her heart that her parents hadn't made it. Her brother was the strongest person she knew, if she had survived then he surely did.

Everyone started waking up shortly after Paige, Beth made her way over to the brunette. As Beth sat beside her, she looked at her with a smile on her face.

"Did you have a good beauty sleep?" she asked the blonde teenager

"Not with my daddy's snoring, next time I am sneaking over here with you" She said seriously, before cracking a light smile

Paige let out a little laugh," deal, but that means you're my new best friend. No questions asked missy" she said pointing at Beth

"Deal" She said swinging her arms around the brunette's shoulders

She leaned her head back, chuckling at Beth's excitement. Maggie approached the two girls and sat to Paige's other side.

"What did I miss?" She asked with a smile on her face

"Paige is my new best friend!" Beth said with a big smile, Maggie and Paige struggled with not laughing

"Is that so? What if she wants to be my best friend?" Maggie said with a smirk on her face

Beth and Maggie stuck their tongues out at each other, causing Paige to laugh again.

As the girls sat together, laughing and smiling, Hershel smiled.

" They get along great" Lori said coming to his side

"Yes, they do. I wish I would have introduced them earlier, maybe if they knew the whole truth they would hate me though" He said with a tear falling from his eyes

"Hershel, what haven't you told them?" Lori asked concerned

"I really should check on the girls, I'll be going" He said quickly dismissing himself from the conversation

Lori stood there, with wide eyes as she looked between the three girls. She wasn't sure why she hadn't noticed the familiar features on the girl but now she knew Paige would be someone she wanted to know for a long time.

Hershel walked up to the three girls and cleared his throat as he stood behind them. The three girls quickly looked up at him, before once again breaking out in laughter.

The girls stood up and walked together towards the group as Hershel rolled his eyes with a smile on his face.

Rick quickly told the group the plan, everyone agreeing before packing their things, leading them towards the gate of the courtyard filled by the undead.

" Ready?" Hershel asked the small group entering the courtyard.

Paige quickly grabbed Maggie's hand, "be safe" she said earning a small smile from the brunette with short hair

Rick opens the door that leads to the courtyard, T-Dog enters and stabs a walker, Daryl, Rick, Maggie and Glenn enter as well. They all start stabbing walkers in the head, making quite the progress. T-Dog ran out of the line and grabbed a shield, causing Rick to grow angry with the African-American.

"Stay in formation!" Rick yelled at T-Dog

Meanwhile, Hershel, Carl, Carol, Lori, Paige, and Beth try to draw the walkers to the fence in order to stab them through the wire.

The six on the empty side of the fence, started yelling at the undead. Helping to distract them from their group members.

Paige had stabbed another in the head, when she noticed Lori looking pale.
