[28] Let us back in our home

As the small group of four approached the gates of Alexandria, Heath stepped out of the car followed by Paige.

"Hey, it's us. We're back. You gonna let us in or what?" Heath said , waiting for someone to open the gate for them.

"I'm technically not authorized, so I will not be doing so" A man with a mullet said, causing Paige to roll her eyes.

"Who the hell are you?" Paige spoke up, already annoyed with the guy's antics.

"You first."

"I'm Paige, I live here. My team's been on a run the last couple weeks" She fired back, not wanting to deal with this man today.

"I'm Eugene. Aaron brought myself and my group here directly within that window, so we haven't had the chance to meet and I can't exactly confirm your residence"

"Open the gate, get Aaron over here if you don't believe us" Paige said

"If I do, how do I know you won't attempt to kill me?"

"Okay, look, I'm not gonna kill you. But the longer you make me wait, the more you motivate me to beat your ass, so..." Heath said

"Thank you. So Deanna put you on gate duty?" Paige said as the man opened the gate for the car to drive through.

"Oh, no, I'm not proper duty. This is Holly's shift. I was just walking by. She asked if I could relieve her for a few ticks. I said, "No, thank you" and she ignored me, which is obviously what I should have done as it's been at least five ticks and still no Holly" Eugene said, causing Paige to look at him oddly.

"I'm Scott, this is Annie and that is Heath."

"Hi, Good to meet you. How many of you are there?" Annie said waving a small smile to the man

"Fourteen, I mean thirteen." Eugene said as he looked down

"I'm sorry." Paige said setting her hand upon his shoulder.

"I'll close up." Heath said, turning towards the gate once again.

"Anything big happen while we were gone?" Paige asked

"Well, we had a meeting last night" He said, surprising Paige, she had heard from Annie that meetings didn't happen too often.

"Oh, yeah? About what?" Heath asked the man, also curious about the random meeting.

"You might want to talk to Deanna. Get it from the horse. Her mouth. You know?" Paige chuckled at the man's way of saying things, before she took off to Deanna's. As she approached the door she was met with a tall, handsome brunette.

"Hey, is Deanna around?" Paige asked

"No, you must be Paige. I'm Spencer, Deanna's son"

Paige shook the man's outstretched hand, "Right, Ron mentioned you my first night here. Aiden is your brother, right?"

"Yeah, he was" Spencer said speaking of Aiden in a past tense, leading Paige to believe he had passed. She noticed the man's eyes, start to water causing her to pull him into a hug.

"I'm sorry, I know how you feel. It will get better someday, just give it time"

Spencer nodded, "Thank you, Pete isn't around anymore so you may want to stop in and check on his patients. One of them has been unconscious for a while. Pete said she was in a coma, caused from a severe concussion"

"I will, can you let your mom know I stopped by?"

"Sure, she isn't doing well. My dad was killed by Pete last night, she is torn up about it" Spencer told her.
