To Veronica Pascual, who heard (or read) the story first; a good friend and an astounding writer.

Α~Δ~Ω ~ Α~Δ~Ω ~ Α~Δ~Ω

July 14, 1878 9:27 p.m.

"Where has it gone to?" Jaya asked.

"I do not know. This is the place where I have last seen it," I replied. I believed that what I saw as no delusion. I sense a wolf when I'm near one and I am never wrong.

"Come. The others might be questioning where our presence is," Jaya said after searching our surroundings. That's not an easy doing, searching I mean for it is dark and the only illumination was being blocked by the canopy of trees, the illumination of the moon.

Jaya and I started to walk back to where the others are. While we walk I cannot help but think of what I have seen earlier this evening. I saw that that was the one I was hunting for, the wolf that killed my family. I must be the one to hunt that beast. I must be the one to kill it. I will avenge my family.

The rustle of the bushes at my left pulled me out of my thoughts. I stopped dead at my tracks and pulled out my bow. I saw out of the corner of my eye that Jaya has her bow out too.

I listened attentively and looked around. I knew it was the wolf and not just a wolf, the wolf; the one that killed my mother . . . my father . . . and my brother . . . But now I can take my revenge.

A shadow passed by and I and Jaya took off in a run in pursuit of the wolf. We ran as fast as we could only to slow down to avoid tripping on tree roots. We dodged tree after tree while not letting the wolf out of our sight.

We reached a clearing where there was a stream and different kinds of plants. The light of the moon casted an effect on this place that makes you want to stay here. This clearing would have been beautiful if it wasn't for the beast.

The wolf was drinking the water when we finally caught up with it. At first, it did not saw us but when we stepped into the light it turned its head to us and growled. Its fur was golden brown, casting a glowing effect when light hits it. Its tail stood on its end, the eyes were red, and its sharp teeth were bared. It was a beautiful creature but it's not beautiful if you truly know what it has done these past years.

The wolf crouched low, getting ready to pounce. I notched an arrow and aimed at it. The wolf tackled but I simply sidestepped the attack and I shot the wolf at its side. The wolf dropped to its side and blood was oozing out. I smiled with pride.

"Is it dead?" Jaya asked. Her hunting knives were out.

I moved closer and closer until the wolf was at my feet. I pulled out my hunting knife and started to cut its head as a price of my hunt. Just as I grabbed its head, its eyes opened and the teeth bared. I yelped. The wolf pounced but this time I wasn't able to evade. The tackle was so strong that I tripped and banged my head on a tree branch and fell at the forest floor.

"Catherine!" I heard Jaya yelled.

The last thing I saw before I blacked out was the wolf lunging at Jaya's throat.
