Chapter 2

"Welcome to the family, Lix."

I was taken back a bit as all of them bowed down at us or more like him.

"It's gonna be hard along the way, but once you'll know them. You might be able to call them family"

Sam's POV

As I introduced the kid to the whole family, some of my men welcomed him whole hearted, while some were quite wary of him. I took a cigarette out of my pocket and was about to light it up when a hand offered an opened lighter. "Boss..." He started.

Blowing out smoke, I looked down a bit, as he was a bit shorter than me. "Who is this kid?" He asked.

This guy is called Sky, I trusted him most out of them. He's a loyal dog to be exact, and I think he's worried about me, suddenly taking a kid from nowhere. "You don't have to be so on guard, Sky. I found this kid at the top of the abandoned building. Trying to jump off."

"So why take him?" I looked at the blonde-haired kid who was slowly opening up, with a small smile on his face, being entertained by the men.

"I just think he's like me..."

I blew out another smoke but this time my eyes were back on Sky, who definitely looked like a dog trying to understand his master. Raising my hand and patting his head, he was surprised as always. "Sky, would you mind taking care of the kid? Teach him everything we do?"

And soon I started walking away, but before I could disappear, I took another glance at the boy. Young and quiet, physically fit, a perfect image for my plan. "Sky!" I shouted intentionally to capture the attention of everyone.

"I'll be back, going somewhere. You're in charge again. And I want some results with that." I said as I pointed at Lix who, confused, before finally walking off waving a hand.

"Safe return, Boss!!" Everyone greeted me, which made me smirk a bit.

Lix's POV

Mr. Sam? He's going away? "Hey kid, don't worry, the boss will be back! Call me Rhino and this old man here is Chris." A buff man said and pointed out at the older guy, though not that old. "Shut up Rhino, your just younger by a year!!" Damn, they are so buff and fit. I bet they can tackle more than 10 men at once.

"How long will he be away?"

The older person took a seat in front of me and even got some drinks for me. "Maybe 2-3 months..." Instead of the two in front of me, a taller man came towards us.

"Oi Sky, your going to baby sit the kid?" Rhino teased the man called Sky, who Mr. Sam assigned in-charge. "Does he even know what we do?"  asked.

"Follow me!" Sky said and so I did. He led me outside where some of the men earlier were...training?!

"We're a mafia group."

M-mafia? He stopped as I looked up at him, with trembling hands. I've never met mafias but somehow heard of them when I was still in the streets. "Are you afraid of us?"

"N-not really, though I've never met mafias before, so I'm quite nervous." He hummed and got back to his steps.

"You owe your life to the boss, he has given you enough, a home to live in and food, but if you want a family you should prove yourself to the boss himself!" Now those words struck my mind and it was true that I owe my life to Mr. Sam.

"Just like you, each and everyone of us are picked up by him. He changed our lives, he gave us shelter, food, a family and even though he didn't express that much, we felt loved by him." He said with a little grin, so Mr. Sam is a very nice guy. But why are they a mafia?

It took a minute before we arrived at a separate building. He opened the door to reveal a room full of equipment, training equipment. From weights to punching bags, some weapons and other stuff. "This is where you will be trained. A couple of guys will come and help you. We'll start tomorrow, so go back to the room and take some rest!" He said and all I could do was to nod and follow his instructions.

I got back to the room I had woken up, where Mr. Sam took care of me. Now that I think about it, I want to do the same for him. Protect him, do anything for him. I want him to look at me.

No one's POV

Somewhere in the mansion, Sky was on the phone with the Boss. "Everything is good here, how about you boss?"

"I'm good, I'm at the rest house. How's the kid?" This made Ban frown a bit and chew his lips. "He'll start tomorrow morning..." He was about to say more but was cut off by Sam. "Take care of him, he's valuable to us."

"Boss, please take care of yourself." He was worried that the man would not take good care of himself. He knew more than others.

"I'll be back next month so don't worry, Sky. I'm tired, I'll call you tomorrow for updates." And the call finally ended, Sky sighed and went back to his room.

'Boss, what does he see in that kid?! But still I can't let my boss down.'

Morning came and soon Lix was out in the yard along with the others, ready for his training. As Sky came out, he looked at the blond kid, or more like glaring, which made Lix nervous again.

"Sky, stop glaring at the poor kid". It was Chris who said something which made everyone laugh a bit. Sky sighed and soon everyone was doing their own thing except for Lix, Sky, Chris, Rhino and another person who seemed to be shorter than him, quiet and mysterious.

Lix glanced at the other one who he still didn't know his name. As they got inside the training hall, the same room where Sky took him.

"Are you ready?" Lix nodded as he could only do so and so they had finally begun.
