𝟭𝟯: Renjun's plan

"Jaemin, you need to stick out your butt a little," Renjun yells although he's only a few feet apart.

Jeno notices how Jaemin tries to follow Renjun's stupid instructions and curses in his head. He doesn't need any triggers!

"Don't listen to him," Jeno whispers with a chuckle. "Your pose is good for a first-timer."

"Really? Because I don't know a thing," Jaemin laughs, obviously nervous.

"It's okay. Just give it a try."

Jaemin does the first stroke and misses it miserably. The hole is by Renjun and the side he hit the ball is far far away.

"Do you want to break God's windows?" Jeno teases Jaemin. "Why do you hit that high?"

"What? It's not how it's done?"

"Clearly not. Look."

Jeno taps Jaemin's hand to take the putter. He then takes the ball and shows how it's done. And what do you think? Jeno aims perfectly. The ball almost goes into the hole. Just one last hit and Jeno makes it.

"That looks easy," Jaemin laughs.

"Did you see how I do that? I'm not using all of my strength and I have my eyes on the hole. Do you want to try that again?"

Jaemin does but he's still striking too strong. Jeno has to teach him more which ends up with them both closing the space between one another. Jeno stands behind Jaemin when he extends his hands to take the putter and touches the human. They're almost hugging when Jeno asks Jaemin to strike together.

They do so and the ball goes in.

Jeno congratulates Jaemin and wants to draw back but the boy asks to repeat. Jeno fulfills Jaemin's wish and does what the boy wants. They have four more strikes until Jeno realizes what they're doing.

They're practically glued to each other!

From behind, Jeno can see Jaemin's broad shoulders, a neck that smells like a strong cologne, the blue color of his hair that now looks like it's fading. Whenever Jaemin bents down, Jeno can see the already black roots which he finds hot for no reason. The half-demon can't help but think how will Jaemin look if he got back to his natural hair color.

"Jeno, are you ready?"

Jaemin looks behind his shoulder as he bents a little. Jeno moves back as he sees what their position must've looked like. Jaemin, however, doesn't care at all as he now has his eyes on the hole.

"Try this one yourself," Jeno says, clearing his throat.

He feels hot all of sudden and hates what is going on with him. Sometimes lust comes out at the wrong moment. To Jeno, it happens a lot. As a son of the demon who is in charge of lust, Jeno never misses it. No matter if his head is clear or if he's in class, sometimes it hits him like a truck and he can't do anything.

He knows that it happens when he doesn't use his powers on humans. Then all of that turn at him and make him suffer then. When he does use them on people, it takes months for lust to appear in his life again. That's why Jeno likes messing with people as it's both entertaining and useful.

But now he hasn't played with anyone for a while. Ever since Jaemin blocked every level of his spell, Jeno lost interest in other people and focused on Jaemin. Now that he thinks of it, Renjun found a good moment to match them up. Just when Jeno was already intrigued by Jaemin's resistance to lust, he didn't notice when he got affected more.

But Jaemin isn't resistant to love according to Renjun. If his heart is really darker than Jeno's, then that means that he has fallen more.

And Jeno knows that he's right as Jaemin smiles and hugs him just as he finally gets a goal. The hug is lasting longer than needed but no one complains.

They're going home after golfing. Renjun and Jaemin are talking, meanwhile, Jeno is remaining silent. Maybe because he's anxious about his future actions.

You see, he was following Renjun's plan right all this time. And according to the matchmaker's plan, he has to walk Jaemin to his dorm. But he doesn't know when to interfere. Renjun and Jaemin are too into a conversation.

"It's getting dark now," Jeno says all of sudden. It's not natural at all, he realizes, so he tries to cover it with stupid comments about the sky. "Isn't the sky pretty tonight?"

Jaemin looks up to admire the night sky, meanwhile, Renjun throws a very exhausted look and mouths, "What was even that? You're so bad at flirting!"

But Jeno knows that he's bad. He ends up awkward right away.

"It is," Jaemin says, now looking at Jeno. "Just look at the stars. So pretty."

"Yeah..."

Jeno feels Renjun looking at him. Does the matchmaker want Jeno to say that You know what else is beautiful line?

"Do you believe that shooting stars make wishes come true?" Jaemin asks, staring at Jeno but then glances at Renjun too.

"Well," Jeno starts but his friend cuts him off:

"I don't. What about you, Jeno?"

"Well... It's not scientifically possible but believing that it happens is fun."

"I think so too," Jaemin smiles. "But I like believing that a shooting star can change my life."

"That's cute," Renjun coos.

"Hey... But it's really dark right now," Jeno says before he could chicken out. "Do you mind if I walk you to your dorm?"

"No, I would be glad," Jaemin replies way too enthusiastically.
