"No, we are all safe. I'm Shane, this is Lori and Carl, Y/N." Shane says with his hands up pointing to each of us. I whispered to Carl from behind him. " Can I stay behind you please?!" I begged him.

Carl let me stand behind him, he knew I was never good at meeting new people I never liked talking to anyone except a few people. Carl being one of them...or the only one now. But I'm still sad about before but Carl trying to cheer me up is really funny.
" Y/n, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!"
Carl says in his most Olaf like voice.
"OLAF?! Is that really you?!" I say bouncing around in a circle.
" Yes it is my princess!"
Carl says bowing to me. We both giggle and start breaking down in a full fit of laughter that we can't help to let out!
"Hey, maybe we should invite the little girl over she looks lonely." I say to Carl.
"But Y/n/n I thought you didn't want to talk to anyone?" Carl says confused. " I know damn well what I said but you know I don't like talking to Adults. She's our age it's not weird or uncomfortable." "Now come on let's go make a new friend!" I say grabbing Carl by the wrist and skipping over to the other little girl.
"Hi! I'm Y/n and this is Carl I wanted to know if you would like to play with us?"
I said happy as ever in this messed up situation. The girl looks at me and then at Carl back over to her stuffed animal. "Do you guys actually want to play with me?" She asked scared and happy. Carl then speaks up. "Yeah we would love it if you decided to join us. We could play all types of games to!" He says smiling like a goof. Me and Sophia start giggling at Carl while covering our mouths. "Wait what are you to laughing at?" He said confused that is when we both look at each other and start laughing so loud that the parents asked us what was happening. "Lori you can not believe how your son just looked!" Sophia says laughing and holding her stomach. I nod my head along with what Sophia said. Carl turns around to the Adults shrugging and trying to figure out what was happening.
"What did I do that was so funny?" Carl asked us confused even more, I couldn't help it but to laugh even more and heavier.
"Carl- th-the way you smiled like a tot-total dork!" I said pointing to him while wiping away fake tears. Carl looks at Sophia and I and starts gasping.
"How dare you!? I will have you know that my smile is not dork-ish!" He says offended and in a "I'm a man" voice.
"Yeah maybe not always but you did look dorky when you smiled-" Sophia says not able to finish her sentence from her own tears of laughter and joy. Carl looks at us and then starts laughing but we get cut off by the sound of a motorcycle. Make that 2 of them. Me Carl, and Sophia look at each other and run behind the closet car while the adults go see who that is. I look over from where I am and hear something behind us in the woods. "Guys did you hear that?" I whisper yelled.
"Yeah I Heard it, do you think it's a person or one of th-those things?!" Sophia says scared to death. "I don't know but I'm about to, stay here and if I don't come back tell them I'm in the woods." I say grabbing my knife and gun my mother gave to me before she died.
"Y/n you can't what if you get killed it's dark out and you don't know what can happen?!" Carl says concerned. "I'll be fine. Just stay here I'll be back." I say walking into the woods feeling my surroundings. I see the thing walking my way. I grabbed my knife until it knocked me to the ground making me drop my knife somewhere. I was trying to make sure it doesn't bite me, so I couldn't reach the knife and I didn't want to make to much noise but I had to. I grabbed my gun and held the gun to the monsters head and pulled the trigger making a loud ring. Then I don't hear the fighting no more. Carl starts yelling for me. I push the monster off of me search through its clothes and find 2 pocket knifes in great condition and one pistol with a whole thing of ammo. I grabbed my knife and ran back to the camp. That's when Carl saw me and yelled my name. I looked at him one time and ran into his arms. He held me tight, we have been best friends for god knows how long. If I ever left him or if he ever left me I would never be the same. Even in death.
"Y/n! Are you okay you have blood on your face?!" Carl says wiping it off with a piece of cloth. "I'm okay Carl I killed the monster and got a bunch of good things from it!" I said proud of myself. Carl knows that I can handle myself and he knows that I would never lie unless I really had to. That's when Shane walked over and grabbed my arm to face him. "What the hell did you just say you did?!" Shane yells at me. "I said I killed one of those monsters and got some things for me and Carl along with Sophia." I said annoyed with the fact he was getting mad at me.
"I told you to not do that! What the hell were you thinking you could've gotten killed by yourself!" He yells more. That's when I snapped.
"I don't have to follow orders from you! You're not my father and don't act like you are! My dad is dead so is my mother. You are not and could never be them so don't pretend you are!" I yell back at him and took my arm out of his hand. I walked back to my tent that me and Carl shared with Lori. I was sitting crying in my arms when Carl came in and sat next to me. Lori was gonna come in but thought I needed time away from adults. And she was right. I just wanted to be with people my own age. People who can think and feel like me and know how I feel about losing friends. And that's when Sophia asked to come in. I nodded and Carl moved over to get a flashlight and hung it at the top of the tent and took out a card deck. " Sophia, do you know how to play slap jack?" Carl asked while setting it up. "No I never heard of it. How do you play?" Sophia says interested and confused. I laugh a little at this and Sophia and Carl smile at me. I felt better knowing I had them with me, I felt calm in that second. Carl explained the rules and how to play to Sophia which I had to correct him on a bunch of things. Cause he hates when I do it so why would I not do it?
"Sophia, darling it's time for bed." Carol said poking her head into the tent that was blowing with laughter.
"But mommy I'm having fun playing with them!" Sophia said trying to convince her mother to let her play with us longer.
"No Sophia,Laurie said it's bedtime for them to. Come on let's go to bed mommy and daddy are tired." Carol says smiling and reaching her hand out. I laugh a little and hug Sophia good night along with Carol. Me and Carl then put the game away and the flashlight, and then get changed but on separate times. He waited for me to get dressed out side and I did the same for him. Then we both went to bed after a few minutes because we were laughing and joking around.
