Yawwwwn...
Dang... night already?"
Sitting upright on the couch, my eyes wandered around. From the warmly lit doorway to the kitchen to the soft undertones of a half filled bookshelf.... no sign of life. It seems like they've all gone to sleep early.I raised my arms and stretched...and a loud crack replied from the lack of a good sleeping posture. Getting up, I tip toed away from the soft cotton filled comfort to the front door with my arms extended and opened it a crack before pushing it outwards all the way... "Where are you going?" A genuinely curious voice asked.
"To the lake." Smiling before I turned to look at her, perched on the windowsills.
"At this time of the night?" I tilted my head, "Yes my little feline friend, yes I am."
"... Can I follow?" Her tail wagged as she moved closer towards the edge. "Oh? I'd thought little ol' feral would love some extra winks."
She grumbles a little before pouting and looking away. "I just want to follow you alright?! Nothing more." I smirked, her eyes clearly begged for sleep... but this didn't deter her... sighhh"Alright alright, hop on." I offered her a hand, in which she took a split second to jump up unto. "Hold on tight, it'll be quite the bumpy ride little miss." She rolls her eyes as I chuckle.
The night was a pleasant breeze, as so was the sky with its bright full moon and seemingly littered stars. I held her close to my chest, not too close... she didn't like being all mushy. I chuckle a little.
Soft crunches of the autumn leaves trail the footfall as winter peaked around the calendar. A walk through the forest was almost pleasant, if it weren't for what had happened so long ago... "Remember when we used to play chase?"
Looking down, I lifted my lips to a smile at the memories. "Yes, and I always won." And to that she gave a small punch. "H-hey ow, that hurt!" I said mockingly.
"You only won because you're a god damned pred." Her long, smooth silky tail whooshed through the air with annoyance. "And, because I wanted you to." Her voice was puffed with pride, and a little mischief.
Clearing my throat, "Well, I so graciously accept and and thank the little miss for giving me such an unforeseen and equally rare opportunity." And that was all she needed for a little laugh.
...Her laughs, if only I could hear a little more. "Stop it you fluff-ball, being cheesy doesn't suit you." I raised my eyebrows. "Oh really now?"
"Yes really." She said as she grasped a finger and hugged it. "It doesn't~"
"U-uh... alright then." I looked away, a little flustered.
"Hmph." Behind her devilishly turned back hid a smile, and I knew it.
"Well I hope you'll forgive me for this little miss." She looks up, "Forgive you for doing wh-" She was quickly, but not hurtlingly, lowered into a positively freezing lake without another word.
She hopped in a panic as she tried her best to get out quickly, and I hollered all the way as she did. "Y-you! You damn pred! A-always up t-to no good!" To that I snickered and shrank myself.
"Oh come on, it wasn't that bad now was i-" splash!
... "Oh now you're asking for it!" I declared as I started splashing her back with water.
The night watched patiently as we played around: her little squeals of joy mixed with the loud crash of water. Time passed like a flash, and soon enough... the moon had slowly creeped its way directly above us. And it was then we noticed how tired we'd become.
We panted as we laid on the banks, smiling as we looked to the stars and beyond...... more time passed before that night played again once more. "It was a night like this." She turns to face me with her pale blue eyes. "What was?"
I sighed... "The day they were taken, and I too..." Her ears drooped a little as she looks on worriedly. "I'm... so sorry. " She says as she lays her tail on top of mine.
"They... the humans just came out of nowhere." I hugged her tail tightly. "They were... I don't... I-it's not really clear..." I start stroking her tail.
"K-knocked my parents out cold with some... thing and the the next thing I woke up... they were gone. And I had found myself in that damned place. That... lab." I hug her, and she hugs back with her arms and her tail around me.
"I-I don't really care about myself b-but..." Sniff.... "I just hope my parents are fine..." I bite my lip as tears start to flow.
"Hey hey... it's alright. You're fine now, you're safe... and you know, we could find out if your parents are ok. I'll be with you at every single step of the way if you need it be." I looked into her eyes.
"You would?" She nods her head with a reassuring smile......and something overcomes me.
My ears twitch as I looked at her star-struck, pursing my lips as I draw close towards hers.
Her eyes widen a little, but doesn't move back as a blush starts to form...... and we kiss as I cup her head closer to mine. She doesn't resist, leaning into it she I hear her pounding heart...
I pulled away, looking lost... before I realized what I've just done. " I-I'm so sorry i-i don't know what happened to me! I-I jus-"
"Shut up." She says as she kisses me again...
The next few seconds felt like eternity, her hands wrapped around me with our lips connected. Our eyes closed as our hearts beat together... she pulled away, eyes stared at me lovingly as she blushes immensely before burying herself in my chest. Her tail wagged wildly, and so did mine.
I hugged her close, still not believing what'd just happened. "I-It is fair to say that I love you no-now?" She nods.
"Y-yeah, v-very fair to say because I-I love you t-too." She pushed harder into my chest; purring loudest I've ever heard her purr.
W-what just happened?
