"It's getting real loud with those thundering storms outside huh?"
Judging by her definition of loud, it'd be ear-deafening for me if it weren't of her. "Well, I'm just about done packing up for today; are you just about done yet?" I nodded thankfully while I fitted in the sound-cancelling earphones. "Alright, get on and be careful now; the ride will definitely be a little bumpy." Smiling at her kind smile, I got unto her hands without a hitch.
While walking out from the working-complex, several glances and reactions were made and had. It was, if it weren't for the barrier between giant and tiny kind, a miracle and a big one at that. With a hand cupped around me, securing me close towards her chest; she propped her backpack over her back while she held an umbrella with her other hand.
Walking down the rainy streets, eyes of all ages turned and undoubtedly took a second look when they saw a giantess holding a tiny human male in such a position. Seeing and hearing the soothing drops of the rain, it felt strangely nostalgic.
"You're still thinking of that day? Come on it's been years and you still haven't gotten over it?" With a mockingly calm tone, she had once again read my open mind. "Of course, how could I ever get over the fact that I had the luck to find the perfect you in this world of flaws?"
Chuckling at my comment, she had her index finger ruffling my hair as a way of showing affection. "Oh you're too kind for your own good, and you still are." Hugging a finger close, I just couldn't help but relax and replay the moments that had happened that day. "Oh snap out of it, we wouldn't have met if it weren't for the rain."
"You would've never been able to spot tiny little me sneezing pathetically against the giant drops of rain now would you?" With a smile propped high within my lips, she had a little laugh recalling the memories of helping out a sick, bed-ridden little me.

Rain.
People often accompany rain with sadness, ill omens or even a sign of death. Kids in their youth could no longer play hide and seek, young teens get annoyed over the fact that they will get blasted with water and adults might only see rain as nothing but a nuisance. But whereas rain can be cold and sudden, it slows things down.
When you've had a rough day at work dealing with your boss, or a fragile heart after being left in the shadows or the frustration of dealing with life as a whole; rain can stop that. When it rains, no one is able to do much and as a result; life slows down.
People can do nothing about the rain, and in the end have no choice but for the first time of the day; notice the little things they've missed, and find something that could've been walked by time and time again. Rain can do many things and oftenly, it was a missed opportunity.
At times when it rains, you can take a breath; take in the smell of nature and calm down. Look at the people next to you at the bus stop, take out a book to read in the midst of droplets of rain splatting against the window. Rain is a calming thing and without it, we might've as well have never existed.
This is for you, Renulen.
