SLAM!
"Christ!... What happened?" ... why did she have to be back so soon? "Nothing, Nadia. Sorry about the... door slam.""Oh come on now, that face doesn't say nothing." She tried to gain her composure after falling off her seat... which almost made me chuckle, almost. "Come on you can tell me."...I bite my lip.
"It's really nothing." A small thud sounded through the room as I let my bag down. "You can get back to whatever you're doing." Taking off my jacket I laid on the bed and sighed loudly. "You've got an exam after all."
"No no no, the day you don't tease me right after arriving back at the dorm is the day you've been possessed; what happened to the goof I know?" She approaches my bed... her little toes tippity tapping on the hard wooden floor. "I know a sad giant bean when I see one." pfft...
"See? And the wall's already breaking down." She reaches the blankets that touch the floor and puts her hands out, ready to scale up to the top.
"Oh for crying out loud... Nad." I reach out and gently grab her sides, then slowly lifting her up and laying her on an open palm in front of me. "It's nothinggggg okay? You're worrying for nothing." To this she pouts.
"Got assigned a lotta homework?"
"No..."
"Got scolded by anyone?"
"N-no why would you think tha-"
"Oh wait! Was it because you got dumped by your girlfriend that you've never told me about?!""W-what?! Why would you th- cough cough... think that? No it was none of those okay!"
"So you do admit that something's wrong!" She stands proudly as if she's solved the biggest mystery of the century. "Well? What is it?" Oh I can't believe......
"Fine.... it's just... it's just that... uhm... well I'm just worn out and tired and I don't know why..." I stroke her back slowly... something I do on an alarmingly frequency. "And I've just been feeling kinda dead, but that's it really." She looks up at me... and I smile at her; a fake one.
"Hug me." She deadpans.
"What?"
"Hug. Me."
"Nad I'm not gonna hu-"
"I said hug me!" I flinch a little... she's never spoken so loudly before...
"O-okay?" I hug her against my chest... I barely feel anything at all. Her little figure is... all so gentle and tiny. I honestly can't believe that she's so willing to be handled by a giant... she trusts me so much...... sniff... oh gods no, not in front of her. sniff. I can't believe I'm gonna cry in front of her... sob. I'm such a child! sniff. But it's too late, the dam has broken and the flood beckons forth.
"It's okay... let it all out." I don't ask why as I weep, all those pent up emotions being let out all at once. "I'm here." She says as she hugs a finger tightly. "Let it allllll out."
I weep louder and louder as I caress her back, using a finger to very carefully rub her head too. And in a few... arguably uncomfortable moments of silence and soft whispers from Nadia, the floodgates finally drop.
"G-gods... I can't believe that I've just cried in front of you." I lift her up to eye level. "T-that's so embarrassing." She smiles and leans her entire body against a finger.
"No it isn't, if I'm being honest it was kinda nice seeing you cry for once, you know? All the happy funny guy act was starting to creep me out a lot." I chuckled and smiled. "And that was all it took to get a little teeny wee smile back, I'd say it's worth."
"Well... thanks I... guess. I didn't know how much I needed that." I rub her head, and coos a little. "But now that I'm all better... don't blame me when I just tease and pick you up whenever!" She laughs heartily.
"Oh go on... I quite enjoy them." She giggles.
"I just never told you that."
