Sage's phone laid still on her bed as she paced around it, eyes glued to the little red mark under the contact name she had saved for Corpse.

Finally, she stopped at almost having built a trench with her feet. She blew a deep breath out and circled her neck in an attempt to calm down.

Sage decided to apologize to Corpse before texting Elijah as a means to get the hard stuff over with first. Though, yet again, she was too caught up overreacting to even begin the task at hand.

"Corpse," she stated out loud, "I'm really sorry about what happened with Elijah. I'll make sure to sort things out..."

She ended up slapping her forehead mid-speech. "I sound like a parent at a school meeting," she mumbled to herself.

"Corpse," she started again, "I know shit got rough but— okay, maybe a little too urban."

At last, she shook her head. In an impulse, Sage grabbed her phone and began typing sincerely. Two minutes later, she flung her phone out of view.

If she couldn't see it, she didn't have to think about it.

It had been about an hour since Corpse abruptly left Sage's call, and about five minutes since his body began unfolding.

He'd never had an anxiety attack run that long before.

With his chest still unsteadily heaving, he felt the vein in his forehead throb against the carpet.

He laid there for as long as silence allowed, distantly thinking about how rude he'd been to Sage whose nervousness he could feel through the screen.

Corpse had hoped to let her in on Rae's surprise appearance in his upcoming song with MGK; for Sage was a part of the trending clip on Twitter.

The clip where he had won as an impostor despite her claims, and the same clip Rae foreshadowed her feature.

(A/N: the clip originates from chapter III)

However, he'd suddenly began feeling uneasy and instantly recognized it as a creeping anxiety attack.

The on edge feeling even forced him to act discourteous towards Sage and her weird friend, Elijah.

He planned on explaing the situation to Rae whom he had left confused since the moment he made an excuse to leave, and then ask for Sage's number to apologize.

His throat was parched and his bad eye pulsed for some rest but instead, he reached for his phone. It was his petty way of getting back at his own body for punishing him in the way it did.

7 missed calls and 23 unread texts from Rae.

Expected.

9 unread texts from an unknown number.

Not so expected.

He opened the stranger's chat first.

Hey Corpse! It's me, Sage :3
I just wanted to apologize for my friend's comment. Rae told me you wouldn't have taken it to heart but I don't want there to be any chance of you feeling hurt
You know you're a cool boi 😎
And you are lmao Elijah just has a weird humor, I swear he didn't mean anything by it
Once again, I'm really sorry. I hope you're well and that we can continue playing together without any awkwardness cause that would lose me half my new subscribers hahaha <3
Jk jk
Okay now I'm rambling sorry
Oh and it's totally alright if you changed your mind about whatever it was you wanted to tell me! No hard feelings at all!
Take careee :))

Corpse chuckled and found himself going back to read her sweet rant all over again. He felt a similar tug in his heart as when he'd listen to Sykkuno or Karl.

Without much thought, he saved her number.

Sweetheart
