What followed a long, crestfallen day was a night of streaming Sage did not look forward to.

She wasn't ready to put on a happy face and entertain millions. She wasn't even ready to interact with her Among Us friends.

However, she dragged herself to her chair, lousily set up the stream and bitterly waited for Karl to text her the code. And when she entered the Discord call, she was greeted by a cheerful bunch.

With the mood she was in, Sage felt as though their enthusiasm was heavy desert after a nauseatingly filling meal.

"What's up, Sage?" Sykkuno asked, just as he always did. And where he expected an equally joyful reply came a monotone "nothing much".

"Ah," he laughed awkwardly. "It's that kind of day, huh?"

Sage didn't reply and thankfully, Karl voiced a lobby's code.

Her phone blew up fast. She already knew it was her friends asking her if she was okay, and she did not feel like answering. However, the last chime came later than the rest and somehow compelled her to peer at her phone.

Big Scary Man: you alright?

For whatever reason, her eyes welled. People asking that question always pulled the trigger to her insanely sensitive waterworks.

Thank God, she was streaming with her camera off today. The last thing she needed was to trend on Twitter for mysteriously crying.

She cleared her throat and spoke to the chat she had yet to even look at, "Sorry, guys, I know I'm quiet. Think I'm coming down with something but I'll try to get a couple jokes in. If you don't laugh you're discriminating against sick people."

Her screen flashed red.

"Impostor," she muttered quietly to chat as everyone moved out of proximity. "With Corpse. Guess I'm 'bout to bag a win tonight."

A black character walked up to her faking task in Navigation. She greeted him first before he could suspect her for feeling blue, "Howdy, partner."

He let out a long guttural sound Sage could only interpret as aaaaaaaaaa. It surprised her. "Note to self: my guy speaks whale."

He laughed and consequently, she did too. He began waddling a little closer, saying, "You uh— you kill anybody yet?"

Sage saw Ash stopped dead in her tracks and realized she'd heard him. She quickly lied, "Yeah, just killed Ash in Cafeteria."

"I'm right here, you know," said Ash, now entering the room.

Corpse hummed. "That's sus."

Sage hummed along. "Very."

"I'm so confused," the poor girl mumbled.

"Don't worry about it," said Corpse. "We've collected what we needed. Watson?"

"Right behind you, Mr. Holmes," Sage stated before following him around as they terrorized a couple more crewmates.

Soon enough, an emergency meeting was called after a few others; and Sage almost sighed outloud upon seeing Toast had been killed too.

However, she cried instead, "Nooo, we needed Toast."

"Okay, I know this could be a false assumption but my gut tells me it's Sage," said Dream.

"Let's not do me dirty this time, please," she retaliated.

"Yeah," chimed in Sykkuno. "Sage doesn't deserve that again."

"I don't think it's Sage," Ash said. "She was with me and Corpse for most of the round."

"Doesn't mean she can't be the second impostor," added Dream.

"We're all sure Brooke was the first, right?" Rae asked and Corpse slyly confirmed. Sage could feel everyone was silently contemplating over her and Dream.

Sage spoke before anyone could vote, "What about you, Dream? I haven't seen you around much."

"Why don't you call me sometime then?"

They went quiet for about two seconds before the girls voted Dream.

"Oh, come on! I was in cams! Stop playing around."

"Wait, so you haven't been doing your tasks?" Corpse asked.

"No!" He screamed. "I mean no as in no, that's not what I mean!"

"Oh, he's panicking," said Ash. "I can't tell if he's panicking because we're dumb or because he is."

"Probably him," Sykkuno said.

"Bye, Dream," sang Sage and he was voted off with a cut off scream.

But it was when the game took them back to cafeteria did the gang begin screeching.

Sykkuno uttered the first comprehensible phrase in the mess, "IT WASN'T DREAM. IT WASN'T DREAM."

"Calm down, everyone! Let's just stick together so it's harder for the last impostor to get us," suggested Rae and everyone agreed.

"That sounds an awful lot like cheating to me, Mr. Holmes," said Sage with a sinister grin as she sabotaged O2.

"You're right, Watson."

"I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS," cried Ash.

"Don't worry about it," Corpse muttered.

Off went Ash and Rae's heads.
