Mei x Miriam

At school

Miriam's POV: (sorry I don't know how i would write a good part for Mei at this part in the story... yet >:)

I just got up because I could barely sleep last night for some reason. Its not like I was thinking of Mei hehe. I checked the time to see that it was 5 am. Ugh. I put Robaire Junior in My backpack and hoped Meilin would not ask if I had him or he beeped near her making her know I've taken care of him. I forgot about Robaire Junior while waiting for people to actually be awake. I thought back to what Priya had said 'I think Meilin likes you too.' Does Priya think I have a crush on Meilin? I mean, she did check my pulse and maybe she lied to Abby for my sake. But how does she know that I have a crush on Meilin if I don't have a crush on her? I felt my heart begin to race and my face became red. Ugh even thinking about her makes me red. Wait, shouldn't I be mad at her because she threw me, Priya, and Abby under the bus? But I mean she did have a good reason too, I hope. My thoughts had gotten cut off by Robaire Junior screaming like his life depended on it. I ran over there and he was dying again *eye roll*. I saved him from dying and checked the time and it was 10 minutes before school. HOLY FRICK TIME GOES BY FAST WHEN YOUR... thinking about someone.

I ran out the door with my skate board and went as fast as I could. It was not very fast but I do live near the school so i was only a little late. I ran through the halls and got to class barely in time. Then I remembered. I had math. I sat next to Meilin. I started to panic but I went to sit down. She didn't notice me but i didn't mind because she looked really happy. I started to stare at her because of how cute she was when she was focused. "Miriam, Miriam, MIRIAM," the teacher scream taking me out of my trance. "If 2n+3=17 what is n?" I felt my face heat up and stayed silent until I heard aggressive tapping. I looked over to see Mei taping a piece of paper that said seven. "Seven," I said sighing with relief. I looked over at Mei's paper and she had finished all the questions already. Then the bell rang as I looked down to see a sticky note on my paper that had all the answers and was signed by Mei. Seeing it made me feel unnaturally happy for someone who didn't answer one question on their math classwork and soon to be homework.

The rest of the time went by in a blur until lunch where i had to see everyone again. I see Mei sitting alone and Priya and Abby sitting together. I was tempted to sit next to Mei but I saw Priya and Abby waving me over. I looked back to see Mei with a face of disappointment and my heart shattered. Robaire Junior beeped again and Abby and Priya started at me. "You still have it?" Priya said with the same tone as when she checked my pulse. "Did you let it die yet?" Abby said. "No why would I let it die and of course I still have it because its not like any of you would take care of it." I said quickly still scared of Priya and her powers. "I'll take care of it >:3." Abby said trying to snatch it. "I do not trust because you where the person who started singing 'let it die' multiple times yesterday." I said as the slightly murderous look in her eyes faded into a faked sadness. After we finished out lunch we went outside and talked. I again saw Mei looking sad and wanted to go to her but then I remember she betrayed us and that I shouldn't talk to her. Buttttttttttttttttttt she did do that nice thing for me during math class. I turned red once again and felt an hand on my arm.

The person pulled me towards a corner and looked to make sure no one follow us. It was Priya. "Bro why did you do this?" I said slightly angered. "To save you from embarrassment and Abby getting suspicious." Priya said in a different monotone. "What would I be embarrassed by and why would Abby be suspicious of something? Nothing new is happening with me hehe. Nothing." I said panicking as I think I knew what Priya was talking about. "We both know you like Mei and you were just staring at her and your face started getting redder so I think that could raise suspicion." Priya whispered. "Me having a crush on Meiiiiiiii Noooooooooo that would never happen." I said obviously lying. "I said like, I could have been referring to how it seems like you aren't mad at her after she threw us under the bus or you're just her best friend." Priya said with amusement. Well I'm doomed, Priya knows and Abby might catch on and what if Mei saw me. I started panicking and pacing around. "Hey Mir are you ok-" I cut off Priya by saying " No I'm not ok because I think I have a crush on my best friend, you know, Abby will catch on, and what if Mei saw me staring at her and she thinks I'm a total weirdo!"

Priya looked slightly stunned as she saw me pacing and getting closer to crying. "Mir, first who cares if I know because I'm not someone who tells people other people secrets. Second Abby was staring in the direct opposite direction because looking at the boys playing basket ball. Third I don't think Mei saw you because she has been staring at the ground for the past ten minutes." My heart beat slowed as Priya comforted me and I calmed down. I walked back out to the benches with Priya towards the direction of near where Abby was yelling at some kid. I saw Mei looking at us with a puzzled expression. Once we made eye contact I completely turned red and so did she? We watched Abby yell at some kid for who knows how long until the bell rang.
